Hon. Abdulmumin Jibril has firmly stated there is no way the governor of Kano State, Abba Kabir Yusuf will fight Rabiu Kwankwaso, stating that he will not do that because God and Kwankwaso made him governor.

Jibril represents Kiru/Bebeji federal constituency of Kano State and was recently re-elected on the platform of the New Nigerian People Party.

His statement addresses the circulating rumors regarding a potential conflict between Yusuf and his predecessor, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso.

Jibril made this clarification while appearing on Channels Television Politics Today program on Sunday night.

He emphasizes the strong bond and mutual respect between the two leaders, suggesting that any notion of a rift is unfounded.

This clarification from Jibril serves to quell any concerns about instability within the leadership in Kano State, reinforcing the idea that their alliance is crucial for the state’s progress.

He said, “There is no way the governor will fight Kwankwaso; he will not do that. He is his son. God made him governor, and Kwankwaso made him governor.”

The governor had also disputed the rift in an interview at Government House on Wednesday, November 6.

He denied any tensions, dismissing claims that he was distancing himself from Kwankwaso’s influence in the state’s governance.

“I have no problem with my leader (Kwankwaso),” Yusuf asserted, condemning the ‘Abba Tsaya Da Kafarka’ (Stand on Your Own Feet, Abba) movement, which encourages him to assert independence from Kwankwaso.

“It’s a slap on my face as governor of Kano; it means I should betray him,” he added, expressing disbelief at the accusations. Yusuf described the rumours as “unfounded” and “false.”
