The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) is set to reconduct the 2025 UTME for over 370,000 candidates who scored low due to computer and technical glitches reported in 157 of the 887 accredited centers.
This development was disclosed in an official report shared via the board’s official handle, @JAMBHQ.
It comes amid growing public outcry over the unusually low scores recorded by candidates in the just-concluded UTME.
Following the backlash, JAMB acknowledged the widespread complaints and assured the public it would investigate the matter.
Shortly after, during a press conference in Abuja, the Registrar confirmed that a number of centers were affected by technical issues, which in turn impacted candidates’ performance.
A few hours later, the board released an official statement via its social media page, directing all affected candidates to reprint their examination slips from May 16 for a new exam date and time.
The statement read in part: “Man proposes, God disposes! It has been established that a technical glitch affected 157 centres out of the 887 centres in the 2025 UTME. This was basically responsible for the general low performance of the candidates scheduled to sit the examination in those centres.”
“As such, all the affected candidates will be contacted to reprint their examination slips towards retaking their examinations starting from 16th May, 2025.”
