<p>Inter Milan manager <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/simone-inzaghi"><strong><u><b>Simone Inzaghi</b></u></strong></a> has been tipped to succeed under-performing <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/pep-guardiola"><strong><u><b>Pep Guardiola</b></u></strong></a> at <strong>Manchester City</strong>.</p>
<p>This is according to Inter icon <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/sandro-mazzola"><strong>Sandro Mazzola</strong></a>, who also expressed hope that the Italian coach remains at the helm of the Nerazzurri.</p>
<p>In an interview with SempreInter, Mazzola, who won four Serie A titles and two Champions Leagues during his 17-year playing career at Inter, praised Inzaghi’s managerial qualities and long-term potential.</p>
<p>“I both hope and think that Inzaghi will stay at Inter for many years to come. Then, if he continues to win trophies, who can send him away?” Mazzola said.</p>
<p>While dismissing speculation linking Inzaghi to Arsenal, Mazzola said the 47-year-old tactician could eventually fit into Manchester City’s structure post-Guardiola.</p>
<p>“More than at Arsenal, I see Inzaghi hypothetically as a replacement for Guardiola at Manchester City, but as I said, I hope he stays at Inter.”</p>
<p>Inzaghi is currently contracted with Inter until 2026, but club president Beppe Marotta recently confirmed that negotiations to extend his deal to 2028 are ongoing and described the renewal as a “formality.”</p>
<p>Mazzola, a Euro 1968 winner with Italy, even likened the possibility of Inzaghi’s long-term stay to Sir Alex Ferguson’s era at Manchester United, though he admitted Italian football rarely allows such continuity.</p>
<p>“It would be beautiful if it happened… but in Italian football, this is very difficult.”</p>
<p>He further commended Inzaghi’s tactical acumen and leadership: “He’s outstanding at controlling and maintaining a dressing room and in preparing for games.”</p>
<p>Inter remain the only Italian club competing in three competitions this season. They were held to a 2-2 draw by relegation-threatened Parma on Saturday and face Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final first leg on Tuesday.</p>
