<p> Girl Up USA is seeking an intern to learn about and support various projects across channels for Girl Up USA at-large. The Multimedia Communications Intern, Girl Up USA will support Girl Up USA’s communications efforts, social media channels and help create, organize video and photo assets, assist in editing and designing visual and multimedia assets for social channels, websites, and Girl Up events, in addition to other tasks as assigned. The Multimedia Communications Intern for Girl Up USA will report to the Director, Girl Up USA and collaborate across Girl Up’s departments.</p>
<p> This is a paid opportunity and offers a rate of $17/hour for individuals currently enrolled in or recently graduated from (within 8 months of graduation) an associate degree or bachelor’s degree program; and $20/hour for individuals currently enrolled in a graduate program. This position is remote.</p>
<p><b>Essential Functions</b></p>
<p> Support the Girl Up USA team to accomplish goals determined by its youth leaders and Girl Up USA Director</p>
<p> Assist Girl Up’s Graphic Designer in creating, designing and applying graphics across Girl Up USA print resources and digital platforms as needed</p>
<p> Assist Girl Up’s Graphic Designer Associate in creating, designing and applying graphics across Girl Up print resources and digital platforms as needed</p>
<p> Support in updating Girl Up USA’s photo and video curation and organizing assets as needed</p>
<p> Support video production needs for upcoming events and campaigns, as needed</p>
<p> Support creative ideas for Girl Up’s social platforms, virtual event branding, and merchandise design</p>
<p> Assist with creation of program communication to Girl Up members, including Clubs, Coalition Leaders, and Teen Advisors</p>
<p> Brainstorm creative ideas for Girl Up USA’s social platforms, virtual event branding, and merchandise design</p>
<p> Assist with updating Girl Up USA community platform as needed</p>
<p> Assist in template document and resource creation (i.e. presentation decks, one-pagers)</p>
<p> Advocate and contribute a unique perspective on issues girls 13-24 are facing currently</p>
<p> Take quality notes and be able to translate team directives into completed projects</p>
<p> Assist in video production design as needed</p>
<p> Support additional projects and tasks as needed</p>
<p><b>Selection Criteria</b></p>
<p> Candidate must be enrolled in a degree-granting program during the internship or must be a recent graduate (within 8 months of graduation) of a college or university.</p>
<p> Communication, Graphic Design, Programs and Political Science degrees preferred</p>
<p> Applicant should have intermediate to advanced level experience in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign are a must)</p>
<p> Experience designing for digital platforms and web preferred (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva)</p>
<p> Asana experience a plus</p>
<p> Strong oral and written communications skills</p>
<p> Some video editing experience preferred</p>
<p> Commitment to cross-cultural communication</p>
