Inter Milan have been handed a crucial lift ahead of their Champions League final showdown with Paris Saint-Germain on May 31, with star forward Lautaro Martinez reportedly set to return to full training earlier than expected.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport (via Football Italia), the Argentine striker is poised to rejoin first-team training this week.
This follows his recovery from a thigh injury sustained during the semi-final first leg against Barcelona.
The injury initially cast serious doubt on his availability for the final stretch of the season.
Martinez, 27, had briefly returned to score in the semi-final second leg at San Siro, helping seal Inter’s place in the final, but has since missed the club’s last two Serie A fixtures as a precaution.
Now, with fitness improving, he could even feature in Inter’s final league game against Como on Friday, where Simone Inzaghi’s side remain in the title race.
