<p>Veteran <strong>Nigerian musician</strong>, Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi, has shut down widespread rumours about his death, declaring he is alive, strong, and in good health.</p>
<p>In a video shared on Tuesday, the music legend countered the false news with a spirited musical performance, singing in Yoruba, English, and Pidgin to make his message clear.</p>
<p><em>“Hello, my name is <strong>Professor Ebenezer Obey-Fabiyi.</strong> Satan, you don lose o, Satan, you don lose o, you don pafuka. Na lie lie you dey talk, you don pafuka.”</em></p>
<p><em>“It is fake news that started a few hours ago claiming that I, Evangelist Obey, have passed on to glory. It is a lie. I am alive, and that is not the word Jesus has written,” </em>the legendary musician added.</p>
<p>The rumour had gone viral on Monday, prompting concern and condolence messages from fans across social media.</p>
<p>However, his personal assistant, Tope Olukole, quickly addressed the situation during a live interview with TVC later that evening.</p>
<p>“<em>Let’s be clear: Ebenezer Obey is alive and thriving ,”</em> Olukole stated.</p>
<p><em>“He even recently joined his family to celebrate his second child’s spouse 50th birthday.</em></p>
<p><em>Rumours of his passing are baseless and entirely unfounded. We’re glad to see him active and well,</em>” he added.</p>
<p>The false news surfaced less than a month after the renowned musician celebrated his 83rd birthday.</p>
