A shocking revelation has uncovered a fraudulent scheme allegedly practised by some HR personnel in Nigeria to manipulate employment processes.

@DrOlusesan on X (formerly Twitter) sheds light on how favouritism and dishonesty can deprive deserving candidates of career opportunities.

According to Dr. Olusesan, certain HR staff in companies create fake email accounts in the names of shortlisted candidates. These fraudulent accounts are used to send rejection messages to the company, falsely claiming that the candidates have declined job offers.

This tactic is reportedly used to reassign the positions to the HR personnel’s friends or family members, bypassing the selection made by management.

How HR personnel use fake emails to reject job employments

“MY COUNTRY, MY COUNTRY! People in the HR of a company would send electronic offers of employment for one or two out of the applicants selected by management to fake emails they created in the name of the applicants.

They would thereafter reply from the email to their company, rejecting the offer. They use this as an official cover to give the job to friends and family whom the management did not select.

If you did not get feedback on some applications you’ve made in the past, it’s probably because somebody in HR has rejected the job on your behalf.

N.B They were discovered when they unknowingly did it to their CEO’s candidate.  The CEO didn’t know too until the affected applicant had the chance to meet him after many months.

When the CEO inquired about the applicant from HR after the applicant had told him he didn’t receive any communication, HR team told him that the candidate had rejected the offer.”
