<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/ivory-coast" rel="noopener">Ivory Coast</a></strong> left no prisoners in their first clash of the 2023 Total Energies <strong>Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON)</strong> against <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/guinea-bissau" rel="noopener">Guinea-Bissau</a></strong>.</p>
<p>The host nation put up a commanding 2-0 win against their West Africa brothers, to take the lead in <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=group+a" rel="noopener">Group A</a></strong>.</p>
<p>The match which marked the first-ever meeting between the two teams in the AFCON, saw the Ivorians dominate, as was expected.</p>
<p>Seko Fofana broke the deadlock for his side, scoring in the 4th minute, to hand Ivory Coast an early lead.</p>

<p>Jean-Philippe Krasso added to the tally in the second half, with a goal in the 58th minute, securing a comfortable win for the Elephants.</p>
<p>The victory puts Ivory Coast in a strong position ahead of their upcoming fixture against Nigeria’s Super Eagles on January 18.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Guinea-Bissau will aim to bounce back from the defeat as they face their next challenge against Equatorial Guinea.</p>
