Getafe midfielder Chrisantus Uche has linked up with the Super Eagles squad in London ahead of Saturday’s Unity Cup final against Jamaica.
Uche, 22, arrived camp on Friday after resolving visa-related delays that kept him out of Nigeria’s 2-1 win over Ghana earlier in the tournament.
He took part in the team’s training session and was formally welcomed with the traditional initiation for new call-ups later in the evening.
His arrival boosts Nigeria’s midfield options as the team looks to wrap up the mini-tournament on a winning note.
Uche has been a standout performer for Getafe in La Liga this season and is now in contention to feature against the Reggae Boyz at the Gtech Community Stadium, Brentford, with kickoff set for 5 pm Nigeria time.
He has also been named in Nigeria’s squad for next week’s international friendly against Russia.
