Job description: Our client is a global multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy, who are looking to bring on Principal Consultant with freshwater EIA experience to offer support across an ever-increasing variety of Aquatic projects. The role is a remote, offering brilliant flexibility for employees with the option to work in any of their UK offices if desired.

The role:

A Principal EIA Consultant within the freshwater team you would be tasked with working closely alongside a team of intra-disciplinary experts, offering expertise on UK conservation / environmental processes to support external agencies across the water, environment, and energy industries to ensure the protection of the UK’s aquatic environment. Operating not only as a project manager you will be expected to design scopes, complete and review; technical reports, EIAs (water quality, fisheries, and sediment quality) and Water Framework Directives. Additionally, experience and desire to engage in tendering and marketing within you field will both be considered valuable assets.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • MSc, PhD or equivalent professional experience within an environmental field
  • 4 years’ professional EIA experience (entirely freshwater advantageous)
  • Familiarity engaging on multifaceted environmental projects.
  • Design, management, and review of water related EIA, HRA and WFD’s.
  • GIS software package knowledge is beneficial.
  • Experience working alongside stakeholders (particularly SNCBs)
  • Line management experience (desirable)
  • Full UK driving license (non-essential)
  • Membership or working towards professional body / chartership.
