<p>Governor <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Ahmadu-Umaru-Fintiri"><strong>Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri</strong></a> of Adamawa State has appointed seven new traditional rulers following the creation of seven new monarchies in the state.</p>
<p>Among the appointees is <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Sani-Ahmadu-Ribadu"><strong>Sani Ahmadu Ribadu</strong></a>, the younger brother of the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu.</p>
<p>The appointments come after <strong>Governor Fintiri announced the establishment of five chiefdoms and two emirates on December 23, 2024</strong>. The new monarchies consist of four second-class and three third-class traditional leadership positions, a move aimed at addressing public demands for increased representation and recognition of various communities.</p>
<p>The newly appointed traditional rulers include:</p>
<ul>
<li><strong>HRH Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu</strong>: Emir of Fufore</li>
<li><strong>HRH Barrister Alheri B. Nyako</strong>: Tol Huba</li>
<li><strong>HRH Prof. Bulus Luka Gadiga</strong>: Mbege Ka Michika</li>
<li><strong>HRH Dr. Ali Danburam (MBBS, FWACP, FCCP)</strong>: Ptil Madagali</li>
<li><strong>HRH Aggrey Ali</strong>: Kumu of Gombi</li>
<li><strong>HRH Ahmadu Saibaru</strong>: Emir of Maiha</li>
<li><strong>HRH John Dio</strong>: Gubo Yungur</li>
</ul>
<p>The governor’s spokesperson, Humwashi Wonosikou, emphasized in a statement that the selections were made based on merit and the appointees’ popularity among their communities.</p>
<p>“Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, CON, has approved the appointment of seven new Chiefs and Emirs for the recently created Chiefdoms and Emirates. The governor congratulated the new Royal Highnesses and urged them to carry out their duties with fairness, honesty, and responsibility. The appointments take effect immediately,” Wonosikou said in the statement.</p>
<p>This development increases the number of chiefdoms in Adamawa State to 11 and emirates to four.</p>
