<p>The Federal Government has donated â¦30 million to the family of the late Pa <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Taiwo-Akinkunmi"><strong>Taiwo Akinkunmi</strong></a>, the renowned designer of <a target="_blank" href="http://gistreel.com/tag/Nigeria-National-Flag"><strong>Nigeria’s National Flag,</strong></a> nearly two years after his passing.</p>
<p>The Director-General of<strong> the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lanre Issa-Onilu, accompanied by the Oyo State Director of the agency</strong>, Olukemi Afolayan, presented the cheque on behalf of the Federal Government at the late hero’s residence in Elebu, Ibadan, on Thursday.</p>
<p>According to <em>PUNCH Online</em>, Akinkunmi passed away on August 29, 2023, at the age of 87.</p>

<p>On September 4, 2023, President Bola Tinubu sent a government delegation led by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Malagi, to condole with the family.</p>
<p>During the visit, the government pledged a national burial and financial support in recognition of Akinkunmi’s contributions to the country.</p>
<p>Speaking on the donation, the NOA DG clarified that the â¦30 million was not a payment for the late designer’s services but a token of appreciation to support his family.</p>
<p>In response, one of Akinkunmi’s sons, Akinwunmi Akinkunmi, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the financial assistance.</p>
