Summary

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled Family Support Worker to support pupils and families in our popular and inclusive school, Initially, the main objective will be to support families in regards to attendance and punctuality. We are looking for someone who can engage positively with families and children, working within our dedicated outreach team.

The school serves a diverse community which has an increasing number of vulnerable families and families supported by pupil premium funding. The successful candidate will be a positive, highly motivated team player, and someone who is keen to grow as a professional, having high expectations of themselves. The governors are seeking someone who is able to work collaboratively, flexibly, as part of a caring, nurturing team.

Interested candidates will need experience of working with families and children, have an understanding of barriers that exist that prohibit children attending punctually and learning effectively. Experience of working alongside a range of different services is desirable, as is a comprehensive understanding of safeguarding children and support for families at Early Help Assessment (previously CAF) through to Child Protection level. The successful person will need to show initiative, demonstrate good interpersonal skills, have the skills to input into TAF/ multi agency meetings and gain the respect of children and family members.
