Newstaff Hospitality Recruitment Agency in St Albans is currently looking for an Event Sales Executive for a prestigious hotel based in St Albans.
The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of event sales experience gained within the hotel sector or a similar hospitality setting.
Working in the conference and events office of this prestigious hotel, you will report to the Director of Events / Events Manager.
Event Sales Executive in St Albans
Main Responsibilities:
- Dealing with all incoming enquiries relating to conferences, meetings and social events within a strict timescale.
- Assisting in up to 4 Wedding Fairs hosted throughout the year.
- Manage conference diaries daily and ensure rooms are sold to their maximum potential.
- Chase all contracts along with T&Cs to be signed and sent back with the first deposit.
- Liaise with the Event Planners to provide detailed handover for each event.
- Meet clients as requested to discuss arrangements and invite new bookers in to view facilities and develop working relationships.
- Report on a daily basis of the number of leads taken and responded to the previous day and quantify on a monthly basis for Sales Strategy Meetings.
- Use all opportunities to up-sell hotel facilities and refer sales leads to the proactive sales team.
- To complete daily, weekly and monthly reports as requested by the Director of Events and Event Manager.
- To attend key familiarisation trips with the Pro-Active Sales team to develop long-term working relationships with key Conference Booking Agents and Key Corporate Clients.
- To effectively manage and develop a portfolio of network accounts to drive more revenue to the business.
- Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets.
- Undertake PR activities in order to best support the goals of the hotel.

- Ability to effectively prioritise and manage a multi-faceted and changing workload.
- To have an in-depth knowledge of all hotel booking systems (Opera OSEM & PMS ideal).
- Must be an excellent communicator with a calm, self-motivated approach and positive attitude.
- Willingness to learn and have lots of initiative.
- Adherence at all times to Health and Safety procedures
Hours:
Full-time hours, must be flexible due to the nature of the work/industry
Pay & Benefits:
Salary: £30,000 pa plus benefits
