<p> <b>Program Overview</b><br />
 <br /> Employment Source provides a range of employment services to unemployed individuals of all ages, financial backgrounds, and skills to help them gain employment within their field or a related field. The successful incumbent will support clients from a wide range of employment backgrounds in person, online and in the community.</p>
<p> We’re looking for someone who will: </p>
<ul>
<li>Provide individual employment counselling and program referrals, including the ability to complete common assessments</li>
<li>Assess client needs and develop service plans that support each clients employment and retention goals</li>
<li>Demonstrate outcome-focused case management ability; applying knowledge of current local labour market trends and community services in York Region</li>
<li>Maintain complete client case files in compliance with the new Employment Ontario model requirements; monitor clients’ progress with ongoing follow-up</li>
<li>Interview and assess clients for a variety of employment backgrounds, including ensuring clients have an appropriate resume, interview adeptness, job search skills, etc.</li>
<li>Collaborate with community partners and cultural specific organizations to provide high volume service in Farsi and/or Hindi in the community</li>
<li>Assist trainees/clients in securing and maintaining employment, including advocating for client’s successful placement and job retention</li>
<li>Flexible hours / evenings / weekends may be required for this position.</li>
</ul>
<p> <b>Minimum Qualifications &; Experience:</b> </p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor’s degree (International degrees must be evaluated for Canadian equivalency)</li>
<li>Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling or Social Services with placement experience, or a related degree with 3-5 years of counselling experience.</li>
<li>1-2 years of employment counselling experience</li>
<li>Effective verbal and written communication skills</li>
<li>Strong problem-solving skills</li>
<li>Effective organization and time management skills</li>
<li>Strong interpersonal skills; the ability to work with a wide range of personality types; sensitivity to diversity</li>
<li>Computer literate; the ability to learn systems used by the agency (i.e. MS Teams, Outlook &; CaseFlo)</li>
<li>Must have a vehicle in order to travel to itinerant locations in York Region</li>
</ul>
<p> Our ideal candidate will also have: </p>
<ul>
<li>Employment Ontario knowledge and exposure</li>
<li>Familiarity with common assessment</li>
<li>Certification from a Career &; Work Counsellor program</li>
<li>Fluent in Farsi and/or Hindi</li>
<li>Police background check</li>
