Due to continued business growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a Electronics Engineer to join the Engineering team on our own site in Cowes, Isle of Wight, you will be working on up-coming marine projects for our worldwide customer base, within a growing engineering department.

To be considered for this role you will live in the Isle of Wight and be willing to work on site in Cowes each day, as well as travel to client sites if required.

What will I be doing?

As an Electronics Engineer, your responsibilities include developing electronic products, components, and systems to satisfy client needs, as well as creating instructional manuals, interpreting client briefs and providing cost and time estimates, testing systems and writing up improvement plans.

The ability to prioritise tasks, solve problems, and deliver work to strict deadlines’ you should have an aptitude for mathematics and a passion for technology. Able to work as an individual or part of a larger engineering team to provide engineering support to all other departments at BES Group Cowes, ensuring safe, practical and cost-effective solutions to a variety of customer and business opportunities.

Below is a list of typical responsibilities that cover most of the day-to-day activities:

  • Designing, inspecting, testing, and updating electronic systems, components, equipment, and software.
  • Liaising with engineers, other professionals, as well as clients to ensure quality projects are completed to specifications.
  • Ensuring all equipment and products meet health and safety regulations.
  • Observing existing processes and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Developing effective maintenance, testing, and quality control procedures.
  • Showing initiative and keeping up with advancements in electronics.

What experience do I need?

Our team consists of the best people, we should know, we trained them. We want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.

  • A Degree or HNC in Electronics or equivalent is essential
  • Hands on experience with electronic design software is highly desirable
  • Tech Savvy – able to complete reports and easily understand the MRP systems used, as well as the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Be able to work confidently on your own or as part of a team
  • Be able to work to tight deadlines and customer requirements
