How will you contribute to the team?
To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
Develop plan and profile drawings of Overhead lines and underground Cables for distribution network in coordination with engineers.
Develop Aboveground cable Tray Sizing and Tray routing.
Provide Electrical Equipment Specs and Datasheets
Have knowledge of Electrical Calculation methods for Lighting, Grounding, Lightning Protection, MV/LV Cable Sizing
Be familiar with Power system studies by ETAP or other similar software for Short circuit, Load Flow, Motor Starting, Arc Flash, Relay Coordination and Harmonic studies.
Have Grounding & Lightning Protection System study and layout experience.
Provide electrical material requisitions and performance specifications.
Provide electrical substation facilities including site and bus work layouts, ground grid drawings, plot plans and elevation drawings for Outdoor Substation equipment.
Provide Layout design for E-House or Indoor Substation,
Provide Interconnection Diagram for MV System
Provide detailed Single Line Diagram, Relay and Metering system and relevant schematic diagrams.
Provide Schematics for MV & LV Motors and VFD
Provide Equipment Wiring Diagram between MCC /SWGR and PLC/DCS through Marshaling Cabinet
Understand Network Communication Diagram
Prepare Bills of Materials and Cable Schedules.
Have good knowledge of electrical codes and standards including, IEEE, NEC, CEC, IEC, NEMA, NFPA
Work closely with peers and other discipline designers to ensure accurate delivery that will meet utility Standards, industry standards and meet good engineering practices, policies, and procedures.
Maintain complete project documentation with respect to all design packages.
Maintain good working relationship with internal groups that support the project.
What will you contribute?
Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized Institution.
A minimum of 5 years of experience as Design Engineer in the field of Power Distribution is considered to have gained the required experience for the position.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, Autodesk REVIT, ProjectWise and Electronic Document Management Systems would be an asset.
Experience in using Software like ETAP , SKM , EASY Power, PSS/E, PSL-CADD would be an asset.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
