We are looking for motivated individuals with a willingness and enthusiasm to learn, who are excited to join the Research & Development function to support the associated processes required to bring medicines to market such as;

Explore, evaluate, and implement state-of-the art automation and digital technologies to support pharmaceutical process development, analytical and manufacturing workflows to improve efficiency, quality and processes and modernise capabilities.

Develop, maintain, and validate laboratory software and computerised analytical equipment that’s used across medicines development and supply to ensure patient safety, product quality and regulated data integrity

Education required:

GCSE Mathematics and English Language (grade A*-C / 9-4) or equivalent

Must have/be predicted minimum 120 UCAS points at A-level (grades BBB – ABB) or equivalent

Language requirement: Written and spoken fluency in English

Duration: 3 years

Location: You will either be based at Stevenage or Ware. You must live within a 60-minute commute of the site location on the day you start your apprenticeship as you are expected to be on site daily.

Stevenage is GSK’s UK R&D Hub, which is the heart of innovation, discovering and developing differentiated, high-quality and needed medicines that are bringing transformational benefit to patients.

GSK Ware facility is a key drug product manufacturing site within the GSK network, and one of GSK’s flagship New Product Introduction sites, bringing respiratory and oncology products to patients all over the world.

What will you do?

Work closely with teams of technology experts to troubleshoot, develop and implement technological solutions and capabilities (i.e. software applications, automated platforms, analytical instrumentation etc.) to enhance business processes that bring medicines to market

Collaborate with cross functional teams including Scientists to analyze user requirements and contribute to the design of technology solutions.

Learn and apply best practices in the evaluation and selection of innovative technology solutions for effectiveness and modernization.

Maintain and improve existing processes, documentation, technology, and software systems for efficiency, includes testing and validation enhancements and fixes.

Understand and apply principles of technical delivery and ensure compliance with Security, Quality and Regulatory standards.

Learn to analyze data to enable decision making, propose solutions and drive improvements.

Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to provide valuable insights and recommendations.
