Yamaha has an excellent opportunity for a Demand Planner Supervisor to join our team in Kennesaw, GA. The Demand Planning Supervisor is the key stakeholder in the Demand Planning & Supply Chain process. They will monitor, review, and oversee a rolling forecast by utilizing statistical forecasting tools, historical data, and sales projections from cross-functional partners and customers to ensure balanced inventory that meets customer demand. They will also be responsible for master data and overall systems continuity.
What you’ll be doing:
- Review the accuracy of current and past demand plans through statistical analysis to ensure forecasted requirements are met.
- Analyze and review factors that impact demand, such as marketing activities, new product introductions, price changes, product discontinuations, account penetration changes, assortment/order plans, etc. and oversees a forecast that quantifies the impact of these factors.
- Liaison with Business Units and internal/external business partners to ensure consistent alignment with sales projections, product discontinuations, changes etc., that could impact fulfillment and inventory levels as well as discrepancies between forecasts.
- Oversee Master Data integrity and the processes related to the setup and documentation of new materials (parts and accessories) into SAP (MDM and ECC modules)
- Participate in annual demand planning objective setting and prepare and report weekly/monthly metrics that measure success or failure to those objectives.
- Review, test, and approve all APO system enhancements and modifications to ensure systems accountability and consistency.
- Review excess inventory monthly and share recommendations to executive leadership for review and approval.
- Oversee MPL process to ensure the accurate creation and transfer of new parts listings.
- Manage (establish, document, review) parts and accessories creation and/or discontinuation process to ensure alignment with Business Units while creating clearly defined cutover plans with minimal inventory disposition.
What you’ll need to be successful:
- BS/BA in quantitative discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- PM or CPIM certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years-experience in Purchasing and/or Material Planning in a high-volume, transaction-oriented environment.
- 5 Years of more in management roles, leading and developing people and teams.
- SAP and advanced Microsoft Excel capability required.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication (written and oral), planning and organization skills.
- Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills.
- Demonstrated thought leadership, independently brings forth relevant recommendation.
