<p>The post, made by @gilmcgowan, a Canadian citizen, was in response to Donald Trump’s proposal for Canada to become the 51st state of the United States.</p>
<p>In response to Trump’s proposal, the Canadian citizen quoted the post, which included a video of Donald Trump making the statement.</p>
<p>He said: “<em>My son had brain surgery that gave him his life back. In the U.S., the bill would have been at least $500,000. Here in Canada, we paid $0. We Canadians don’t want any part of your con-man games, Mr. Trump.”</em></p>
<p>He detailed the expensive medical bills in the United States, comparing them to the relatively low medical costs in Canada, citing his son’s recent brain surgery.</p>
<p>As he made the statement, concerned individuals who came across the post flooded the comment section to share their thoughts.</p>
