Bid Manager

We are a small and dynamic central London based building consultancy, specialising in capital and development project management. Our ‘Vision 2028’ initiative will see the business more than double in turnover and projects under management in 5 years and we are proactively staffing to ensure we reach our goals.

We are looking to recruit a full-time Bid Manager. This role will help establish and deliver key growth initiatives. The role is important in ensuring we continue to grow our market share and reputation within the industry, by ensuring that tender responses and fee proposals are delivered to a consistently high standard.

  • Be based in London or within commuting distance to central London.

Key Tasks and responsibilities:

  • – Taking a lead role in writing all bids, tender responses and fee proposals
  • – Regular reviews to ensure that we have best visibility on bid opportunities, including of portals and frameworks
  • – Identify and evaluate new bid opportunities, providing clear guidance and prioritisation for decision makers
  • – Build on our existing library of materials to ensure that we have high quality templates and inputs to work from when producing bespoke bids
  • – Taking ownership of the end to end bidding process, identifying and managing risk to ensure we submit high quality bids on time, every time
  • – Assemble and co-ordinate dynamic teams within the business with the skills to prepare winning bids, and manage sub-contractor and partner input into the bidding process
  • – Prepare, review and achieve sign-off of commercial aspects, liaising with other stakeholders to ensure business-wide consistency with other commercial and resourcing priorities
  • – Maintaining accurate records which facilitate smooth handover to our team of consultants where bids are successful, and continuous learning and improvement where they are not If keen, the successful candidate will take on additional accountabilities to drive forwards our success across marketing and/or sales more generally. These accountabilities will be tailored to your skills and experience, and the developing needs of the business.

The successful candidate will be:

  • Experienced in business development, with a commercial and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Excellent at galvanising matrixed teams which include internal and external stakeholders
  • Able to absorb detailed and technical information quickly and accurately, and to communicate it clearly
  • Invested in continual process improvement in order to drive outstanding business outcomes
  • Excited to work in a deadline driven environment whilst juggling competing priorities
  • Highly personally efficient, with strong skills in organisation and co-ordination
  • Proficient across the MS office suite.

The successful candidate will have at least one, and preferably both, of the following:

  • Demonstrable experience in bid management and/or technical writing
  • Experience of, or a strong interest, in construction or a related discipline

The strongest candidates are likely to:

  • Be able to clearly articulate examples of how you have implemented improvements resulting in increased ROI
  • Have experience within a consultancy or professional services firm. What you can expect from us:
  • Base salary + access to performance related bonus + access to company-wide profit-share – indicative package £45-50k per year
