Barcelona have identified Alexander Isak as their top striker target.

Club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco are reportedly in agreement that they should go all out to sign him when the opportunity arises.

According to Sport, Laporta is particularly keen on making a significant financial push to secure the Newcastle United forward.

However, completing a deal will be challenging, as Newcastle have no plans to sell, and even if they reconsider, their asking price would be extremely high.

Barcelona held talks with Isak’s representatives in late 2024, but no agreement on personal terms was reached.

Despite that, both parties left with positive feelings about a potential transfer in the future.

While Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested, Barcelona could have an edge, as Newcastle may prefer not to sell to a Premier League rival—potentially making a deal more financially viable for the Catalan side.

Still, turning this ambition into reality will be a major challenge.

Isak is seen as the ideal long-term replacement for Robert Lewandowski, but whether Barça can actually afford the move remains uncertain.
