<p><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/atletico-madrid"><strong>Atletico Madrid</strong></a> are considering a summer move for <strong>Manchester City</strong> midfielder <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/mateo-kovacic"><strong>Mateo Kovacic</strong></a>, according to reports from CaughtOffside.</p>
<p>The Spanish club is looking to strengthen it midfield, with Kovacic emerging as a target.</p>
<p>Manchester City are reportedly open to selling the Croatian following the arrival of Nico Gonzalez from Porto in January.</p>
<p>City have set an asking price of €30 million, but Atletico Madrid are expected to negotiate a lower fee.</p>
<p>Kovacic, who previously played for Real Madrid from 2015 to 2018, has been a regular this season due to Rodri’s injury but is now seen as expendable.</p>
<p>Atletico currently have Pablo Barrios, Rodrigo De Paul, Koke, and Conor Gallagher in midfield, while Thomas Lemar is expected to leave in the summer.</p>
