Liverpool manager Arne Slot has praised Mohamed Salah for his all-around performance in the Reds’ 2-1 win over Chelsea.
Slot pointed at the player’s unexpected defensive contribution that helped his side reclaim their top spot.
“I said to Trent, ‘You have some competition now,’ because I saw that Mo Salah can play as a right full-back as well!” Slot said.
“His defensive effort today to help the team was just as pleasing as his goal and assist.”
Liverpool took the lead in the first half when Curtis Jones won a penalty, which Salah converted for his seventh goal of the season.
He later on assisted Jones to give Liverpool the lead in less than two minutes after Nicolas Jackson’s equaliser.
