Manchester United loanee Antony has expressed his desire to remain at Real Betis for another season, as confirmed by the Spanish club’s CEO, Ramon Alarcon.

Since his winter loan move, the Brazilian winger has been in resurgent form, contributing two goals and two assists in his first five La Liga appearances.

His standout display in Betis’ 2-1 win over Real Madrid further proved his revival in Spain.

Speaking to Canal Sur’s ‘El Pelotazo’, Alarcon revealed:

“The other day, Antony told me that he wanted to stay another year.

“The player is very comfortable here and was surprised by the facilities we gave him to settle in the city as soon as he arrived.”

Antony himself has spoken highly of his time in Seville, emphasizing how he has rediscovered his happiness and confidence after a difficult spell at Manchester United.

“The most important thing is that I have found myself again. I am happy to be enjoying myself every day.

“The sun helps a lot. I wake up every day with a smile, and that’s very important.”

Since his £85 million move from Ajax in 2022, Antony has struggled to live up to expectations at United, registering just 12 goals and five assists in 96 appearances.

However, his recent form in La Liga could force the Red Devils into a decision over his future.

While Betis are eager to keep him, the final call rests with Manchester United, who may prefer to cash in on the winger if a suitable offer arrives this summer.
