<p><strong>Manchester United</strong> winger <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/alejandro-garnacho"><strong>Alejandro Garnacho</strong></a> has claimed the <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/2024-fifa-puskas-award"><strong>2024 FIFA Puskás Award</strong></a> for his breathtaking overhead kick against Everton.</p>
<p>The strike edged out Nigerian striker <a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=paul+onuachu"><strong>Paul Onuachu’s</strong> </a>remarkable flying backheel for Trabzonspor against Konyaspor.</p>
<p>The award was presented during the FIFA Best Player of the Year ceremony in Doha, Qatar</p>
<p>Garnacho’s spectacular effort outshone the contributions of nine other nominees, including Federico Dimarco, Jaden Philogene, Mohammed Kudus, Hassan Al Haydos, and Yassine Benzia.</p>

<p>Garnacho’s goal, which came in a Premier League match at Goodison Park in November 2023, was a moment of magic.</p>
<p>The 20-year-old connected with a lofted cross from Diogo Dalot, executing a perfectly timed overhead kick that left Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford helpless.</p>
<p>Onuachu, meanwhile, had earned his nomination for a sensational backheel goal in Trabzonspor’s clash with Konyaspor.</p>
<p>With the game locked late on, the towering forward showed extraordinary skill with perfect timing, meeting a cross from Enis Destan with a flying backheel to seal victory for his team.</p>
<p>While Garnacho continues to thrive at Manchester United, Onuachu has struggled for form since returning to Southampton following his loan spell.</p>
<p>The Nigerian forward has yet to register a goal or assist in six Premier League appearances this season.</p>
