Al-Nassr have reportedly set sights on a high-profile defensive signing in a bid to convince Cristiano Ronaldo to commit to the club beyond this summer.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who was quoted by Goal, the Saudi Pro League runners-up are interested in Inter Milan centre-back Alessandro Bastoni, viewed as a marquee addition that could help sway Ronaldo’s decision to remain.
The Portuguese forward recently hinted his time in Riyadh was “over,” but club officials are still working on a possible contract extension for the 40-year-old.
While no formal contact has been made with Bastoni’s camp, Al-Nassr are said to be preparing a lucrative offer worth €20 million per season over four years.
Inter, however, are reportedly unwilling to part ways with the 26-year-old for less than €100 million. Bastoni remains under contract until 2028.
Al-Nassr’s trophyless run since Ronaldo’s arrival has reportedly frustrated the five-time Ballon d’Or winner, who is eager to finish his career competing for honours.
Club executives are now accelerating moves to strengthen the squad, also targeting Feyenoord defender David Hancko as part of the rebuild.
