As a fast-paced, dynamic, global accounting team of a public company we are responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Company’s accounting activities. We are seeking a high-performing, innovative and results-oriented person to join the team. As an Accountant, you will participate in all activities related to full-cycle accounting of the Spark business. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and will be part of a high caliber Accounting and Finance team. The Accountant will help ensure that all accounting activities are recorded timely and accurately. We are looking for someone who is highly motivated, pro-active, eager to learn and contribute to the team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct month-end closing process
  • Prepares month-end, quarterly and year-end closings, journal entries and account reconciliations for review
  • Prepare monthly closing files for fixed assets, prepaids, accruals etc.
  • Prepare Payroll and Benefit related journal entries, bank account reconciliations, and general ledger transactions
  • Prepare supporting documentation for monthly variance analyses
  • Respond to information requests and assist with audits
  • Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls under SOX and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
  • Assist management with special projects and ad-hoc requests, as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or other related field of study
  • 2 – 3 years of experience in a public company or corporate accounting position is a plus
  • Knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting principles
  • Understanding IFRS and SOX a plus
  • Experience with Workday ERP preferred
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines, while maintaining accuracy of information and attention to detail
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft products such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.
  • Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • A self-starter and exceptional team player
  • Ability to juggle multiple high priorities and have a willingness to learn and grow

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time remote position
  • Shift Schedule: Typically, Monday through Friday, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • Remote team members must live and work in the United States (preferably EST). Approved Remote Locations: Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, and Wisconsin.
