Real Madrid star Vinicius Junior is set to extend his stay at the club with a contract renewal that includes a 30 percent salary increase over Kylian Mbappe’s reported deal.
Despite persistent interest from Saudi Arabia, where clubs were willing to offer a staggering €300-400 million transfer fee and a €1 billion contract, Vinicius remains committed to Madrid.
Reports indicate that his representatives engaged in discussions with Saudi officials on multiple occasions, but the Brazilian has consistently expressed his desire to continue at the Bernabéu.
Real Madrid initially contacted Vinicius in February to gauge his contract demands.
The forward has requested a €20 million annual salary, up from his current €15 million, which matches Mbappe’s earnings.
While both parties are open to an agreement, Madrid’s management is concerned about the potential ripple effect on their wage structure, particularly regarding Jude Bellingham.
Vinicius’ camp believes the €40 million signing bonus awarded to Mbappe effectively makes the Frenchman the club’s highest-paid player.
Negotiations are set to resume in the summer, with Real Madrid keen to retain one of their most influential players while trying to maintain financial stability.
