Liverpool star defender Virgil van Dijk has confirmed that discussions over a new contract are underway but has not made any commitment yet.
The 33-year-old’s contract, along with those of teammates Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold, is set to expire at the end of the current campaign.
In an interview, Van Dijk said, “Discussions are ongoing, but I don’t know what the future will hold.
“My full focus is on Liverpool and winning games, but we’ll see what happens.”
While Van Dijk remains focused on Liverpool’s season, rumours have swirled about Alexander-Arnold’s potential move to Real Madrid.
However, Liverpool manager Arne Slot dismissed concerns that transfer speculation is affecting his players, stating that seasoned professionals like Van Dijk, Salah, and Alexander-Arnold are unfazed by such distractions.
