Umar Sadiq scored a brace as Valencia played out a 3-3 draw against Osasuna in a La Liga clash at El Sadar on Sunday.
The match set a historic record, with Opta confirming it as the first game at the stadium in the 21st century to witness five first-half goals.
Diego López opened the scoring for Valencia in the 14th minute after a VAR review, but Aimar Oroz equalized for Osasuna in the 26th minute.
Sadiq restored Valencia’s lead in the 32nd minute, before Oroz and Ante Budimir struck to give the hosts a 3-2 halftime lead.
Sadiq secured a point for Valencia with an 87th-minute backheel goal, taking his tally to four goals in nine games since his January move from Real Sociedad.
Valencia coach Carlos Corberán praised the Nigerian forward’s impact, stating: “He came very committed, with a lot of desire to work, and the goals will continue to give him the confidence that he and the team need.”
With Hugo Duro unavailable due to injury, Sadiq is now pushing for a regular starting role in Valencia’s attack.
