Senior Manager, Retail Marketing Strategy & Planning – Consumables
The Senior Manager of Consumables Retail Marketing Strategy & Planning is a critical thought-leadership role that uses a customer-centric analytical approach to establish Walmart as the primary destination for our customer’s everyday needs and key life moments. As a key member of the Retail marketing team, you will work alongside some of the best minds in Retail. Reporting to the Director of Consumables, Health & Wellness Marketing, you will collaborate with your business partners in researching, planning, executing, and measuring multi-channel marketing campaigns that tell an authentic, compelling story and drive demand and perception of Walmart’s brand across the broad portfolio of Consumables categories.

Demonstrating strong knowledge and practice of strategic planning, digital marketing and campaign management
Having an understanding and passion for CPG and retail strategy
Your day to day responsibilities will include:
Annual Marketing Strategy Planning: Leveraging customer insights and analytics to provide input into Consumables marketing annual operating plan (AOP) and marketing strategies in support of the business unit growth and customer objectives.
Marketing Campaign Development & Execution: Assisting in strategic campaign planning (across paid and owned media) in support of AOP, co-leading creative briefs and media planning and working with core team and marketing x-functional partners (Creative, Media) to help execute
Agency management: Day-to-day collaboration with account managers to ensure on-time delivery and flawless execution.
Performance Reporting & Optimization: Consistently and continuously monitoring business and campaign performance, advocating, and aligning with business and marketing x-functional stakeholders on optimizations and effectively ensuring optimizations implemented in market
Budget Management: Prioritizing, monitoring, and enforcing campaign budgets and resolving concerns to ensure fiscal discipline aligned to overall marketing strategy.
People Development: Coach team members and provide feedback to enhance skills, knowledge, and work performance. Mentor less experienced associates and managers.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business or other related field and 5+ years of work experience in media strategy, advertising agency experience, or integrated marketing.
Understanding of media strategy development, customer journey mapping through the lens of media, and consumer insights.
Strong creative acumen and ability to write a compelling strategy brief and assess work against a defined strategy.
Strong cross-functional relationship building and leading with influence experience and skills. Large, matrixed organization experience a plus.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree in Business or related field.
Background in: CPG Marketing and/or Brand Marketing is valued but is not mandatory.
Strong analytic ability to translate data into meaningful insights and action.
Ability to work in an ambiguous and dynamic work environment with competing priorities.
Demonstrated comfort and capability to work in a fast-paced, start-up type environment.
Ability to influence and inspire direct and cross-functional team.
