<p><strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/cape-verde" rel="noopener">Cape Verde</a></strong> delivered a ridiculing upset as they secured a 2-1 win against <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/tag/ghana" rel="noopener">Ghana</a></strong> in a Group B encounter at the African Cup of Nations.</p>
<p>The match which held at the Felix Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan on Sunday night, saw the Blue Sharks take the lead in the 17th minute through a goal by Jamiro Monteiro.</p>
<p>Despite Ghana’s efforts to level the score, a goal by <strong><a target="_blank" href="https://gistreel.com/?s=mohammed+ashimeru" rel="noopener">Mohammed Ashimeru</a></strong> was ruled out for offside, denying them an equalizer.</p>
<p>However, the Black Stars managed to find the back of the net with Alexander Djiku’s header from Jordan Ayew’s corner kick in the 56th minute.</p>

<p>With the game seemingly headed for a draw, Cape Verde delivered a late twist as Garry Rodrigues secured the victory with a fine finish in stoppage time, sealing their position at the top of Group B.</p>
<p>Cape Verde will now face Mozambique in their upcoming match on Friday, while Ghana will face a tough challenge against the Pharaohs of Egypt in their next fixture.</p>
