Job description: The Role…
Reporting to the Head of HSS UK, Europe, and Asia, this role is responsible for ensuring all physical security and licensing compliance managed across Soho House’s UK businesses. As a subject matter expert, you will lead the strategic and day to day security of the Soho House properties across the UK to ensure the security of all members, staff and property without compromising on providing an excellent member experience. Regular late shifts and weekend working expected. The role will positively drive and improve safety and security culture, leading by example
Main Duties…
- Act as the main point of contact and lead on all security, licensing, and security incident investigations, manage safety incidents where required, including investigation and gathering of relevant information.
- Create and annually update security and licensing policies, procedures, and security risk assessments in order to mitigate risk, maintain business continuity and standards, and protect business reputation.
- Manage the UK CCTV and alarm maintenance contracts, oversee CCTV projects in line with business needs, and lead on remedial infrastructure works and improvements through site surveys.
- Act as the main point of contact for liaising with police, licensing authorities, and noise nuisance enforcement officers, and address any enquiries or complaints surrounding these.
- Develop and deliver security plans identifying risks and key areas for improvement.
- Work in collaboration with wider HSS team on Counter Terrorism and emergency planning, incorporating Martyn’s Law compliance.
- Advise and oversee security needs and manned guarding operational management, for the year-round business and events for sites and CWH UK, to ensure security needs are fulfilled and Soho House standards are maintained.
- Contribute to risk management activities such as reviewing internal and third-party security risk assessments.
- Support events and late-night operations ensuring member and guest experience, as well as acting as lead security for high-profile events and new site openings.
- Deliver regular training for Event and Operation Teams on licensing requirements, capacities, incident management, escalation and reporting, and conflict management.
- Deliver / supervise annual training programmes for responsible alcohol service, Challenge 25, and WAVE for bar and floor managers including management of training records.
- The role holder will lead on all aspects of UK physical security and be accountable for the implementation of all security-related policies, procedures, and controls. They will lead and will provide assurance that risks are being mitigated and controls are effective.
Requirements / Qualifications…
- Significant practical experience of problem-solving security issues in a dynamic/diverse environment.
- Be self-aware, an excellent listener, team player, collaborator, and communicator.
- Have experience with influencing senior leaders, external stakeholders and local authorities.
- Evidence of strong interpersonal skills in order to establish credibility with colleagues and senior management and to foster effective working relations with a wide range of senior internal, client and external contacts
- Be comfortable with risk and working in ambiguous situations.
- Hold valid SIA licence.
- Experience within fields of hospitality security and/or law enforcement preferred
