The Role
We are looking to add a Principal to our U.S. business. Working alongside an experienced and tenured team, you will be part of a diverse group of passionate people that while varied in their backgrounds, is unified in its shared mission to expand westward, and conquer the market, through our unique and unparalleled approach and knowledge of the Real Estate industry.
Your Key Responsibilities as a Principal at Macdonald & Company:
Clients
- Inherit and further develop existing client relationships.
- Leverage track record to lead introductions towards identifying and building relationships with new client companies.
- Involvement in driving client solutions on large scale bespoke projects.
- Involved in talent advisory to offer client companies ‘bigger picture’ solutions pertaining to the development of their teams.
- Develop a strong understanding of client companies – by becoming a subject matter expert in all facets of real estate investment, finance, development, asset management, leasing, acquisitions.
- Source and retain business with new and existing client companies.
- Management of the entire ‘search and placement’ lifecycle; placing suitable candidates with client companies.
- Attend and represent Macdonald & Company at industry conferences, in real estate podcasts, and other digital media.
- Successful account management.
- Consistent local and international cross-selling of clients, between colleagues and other Macdonald & Co. offices.
- Work with our marketing teams to regularly produce relevant industry content to share with client companies and contacts.
Candidates
- Using inhouse tools, job boards, and social media to advertise vacancies, attract candidates, and build relationships with potential talent.
- Headhunting candidates. Proactive identifying and approaching of suitable candidates employed at competitors of your client companies.
- Thoroughly vet candidates, in order to obtain accurate and complete information on their work history, competencies and career objectives.
- Briefing candidates on responsibilities, salary, and benefits of the job in question.
- Management of the entire search and placement lifecycle; scheduling interviews, taking detailed feedback, and actioning appropriately.
- Work with our marketing teams to regularly produce relevant industry content to share with candidates.
Recruitment Administration
- Utilize Bullhorn to ensure data integrity of client companies and candidates is maintained.
- Contribute towards content for company-wide updates and presentations.
- Partnering with our operations, data, I.T. and marketing teams to routinely and proactively seek out new ways to streamline processes and procedures; with the focus of ensuring best-in-class service.
Internal
- Contribution to the mentoring and development of junior team members.
- Act as a brand ambassador for the firm.
What You Will Bring
- 3-7 years of recruitment experience, demonstrating increased ownership and accountability for delivering results.
- Direct hire, executive level placement work, and experience in the real estate industry are not required credentials but will be advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, sales, and negotiation skills.
- A modern ‘data-first’ approach to business development.
- A passion and enthusiasm to continue your education in both search & placement, as well as real estate.
- A desire to build a robust long-term business.
