<p><&sol;p>&NewLine;<div>&NewLine;<p>Aliyu Audu&comma; a Senior Special Assistant to <a target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;gistreel&period;com&sol;tag&sol;tinubu"><strong>President Bola Tinubu<&sol;strong><&sol;a> on Public Affairs&comma; has resigned from his position&comma; citing deep concerns over the growing defection of politicians to the ruling All Progressives Congress &lpar;APC&rpar; and warning that Nigeria is on the brink of becoming a one-party state&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Audu submitted his resignation on Sunday&comma; June 8&comma; through the Chief of Staff&comma; <a target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;gistreel&period;com&sol;tag&sol;Femi-Gbajabiamila"><strong>Femi Gbajabiamila<&sol;strong><&sol;a>&comma; stating that his decision was effective immediately&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a strongly worded resignation letter&comma; Audu expressed unease over the increasing number of governors&comma; legal figures&comma; and opposition politicians who <strong>have joined the APC in recent months<&sol;strong>&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Though I do not align with the PDP&comma; I refuse to be used directly or indirectly as an instrument to reduce Nigeria to a one-party state&period; That would be a betrayal of both divine favour and democratic principle&comma;”<&sol;em> Audu said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In a separate statement released after stepping down&comma; Audu clarified that his move was not an act of rebellion&comma; but rather a matter of conscience and a commitment to preserving Nigeria’s democratic integrity&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Leaders owe it to God to protect the values and justice within the system&period; Though I am stepping down&comma; I will continue to support the government in power to work towards a better Nigeria&comma;”<&sol;em> he added&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Audu also aimed at the growing political partnership between President Tinubu and Federal Capital Territory Minister <a target&equals;"&lowbar;blank" href&equals;"http&colon;&sol;&sol;gistreel&period;com&sol;tag&sol;Nyesom-Wike"><strong>Nyesom Wike<&sol;strong><&sol;a>&comma; calling it an &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;unholy alliance” that undermines the ideals of progressivism&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;We just differ on political views&comma; as I pride myself with being a progressive and a promoter of democratic values which seems to be lost in the unholy alliance of PBAT with Wike&comma;”<&sol;em> he said&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Despite stepping away from his official role&comma; Audu signalled his continued engagement in Nigeria’s political landscape&comma; adding a humorous note&colon;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p><em>&OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;That does not mean our gbas gbos will seize o&period; We are still here for the attacks and counterattacks&period; Oya Agbadorians&comma; over to you&period;”<&sol;em><&sol;p>&NewLine;<&sol;p><&sol;div>&NewLine;<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;gistreel&period;com&sol;tinubus-aide-aliyu-audu-resigns-labels-wikes-alliance-unholy&sol;" previewlistener&equals;"true">Source link <&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
