An old video of Nollywood star Jim Iyke discussing his experience at Pastor TB Joshua‘s congregation in 2013 has surfaced amidst the BBC piece.
Recall the viral video from many years ago showing the actor going insane at a church and stuttering gibberish while being restrained by men and having his hands touched by the preacher.
During an interview, Iyke—who has been transparent about the encounter—told Chude that he was in the church because of his mother.
The actor said he followed advice to bring his ailing mother to church in hopes of recovery.
The young man continued, saying that they confined him in a suite while they urged him to come downstairs to attend the service.
Jim Iyke clarified that he eventually joined the service as a result of intense pressure from them, and he even laughed when the in-person preacher walked by him and went about his business.
He clarified that she didn’t want them to see him laughing, therefore his sister had advised him to control himself.
He continued by saying that after the pastor returned to him, he lost memory of what had transpired.
The actor said that although he denied being the one in the encounter videos, he was the one and that the world is deep.
