Role: 1:1 Teaching Assistant with Level 2 BSL
Location: Bolton
Salary: £85 per day
Hours: Monday to Friday – 8:20am to 3:45pm
The School:
Simply Education is working with a School in Bolton with a great environment for learning. This School supports pupils aged 3 to 19 years old. The children in this setting have a variety of needs including ADHD, ASD, Hyper mobility issues, early childhood trauma and English as an additional language. The school also caters for children with hearing impairments and so it is vital for anyone applying to hold a level 2 recognised qualification in British Sign Language in order to be successful for the role.
The role:
We are looking for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant who can provide support to pupils across Primary and Secondary to ensure that they are engaged during activities. The ideal individual will be nurturing educator with the ability to build rapport quickly and establish great relationships with pupils. In this role, every day will be different and being able to adapt is an important skill that is required.
Key responsibilities:
– Building nurturing and meaningful relationships with pupils with SEND
– Experience and a good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice
– Understand the different requirements of individual SEN and adapt accordingly
– A passion for education and for making a difference in education
– Additional skills such as Sport, Music and Art are a bonus
Requirements:
– Level 2 British Sign Language
– An understanding of working with students with SEND
– Strong communication skills with pupils and an understanding of pupils behaviour patterns when experiencing complex needs and trauma
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, colleagues, and parents effectively.
– A good understanding of behaviour management and how to implement this into your practice.
