This is a Hybrid Remote/In-office position
As a Talent Acquisition Associate with Vancouver Coastal Health, you will:
- Facilitate the hiring of internal and external staff from the initial posting of positions, selection guidance, to file closure.
- Receive and review a variety of employment applications and ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Screen applicants to make selection recommendations.
- Provide guidance and advice to Managers and Directors regarding recruitment best practices, posting and recruitment requirements, collective agreement language and labour relations interpretation.
- Determine salary placement in accordance with collective agreements and hiring practices.
- Assist with the writing and placement of advertisements of vacancies & coordination of job fairs.
- Liaise with other staff and leaders in Talent Acquisition, Labour Relations, Work Design & Compensation, and other People departments regarding issues of a non-routine nature, and respond to inquiries from managers, employees and the public regarding the status of posted positions, employment opportunities, collective agreement provisions, application procedures, salary and timekeeping issues.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Completion of a recognized diploma or degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Two (2) years’ recent, related experience in a large and complex organization, or a combination of education, training and experience.
- Skilled computer literacy with word processing, spreadsheet, graphics and database programs, e.g. MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and Visio is required.

- Application of human resources practices and relevant collective agreements.
- Develops and maintains strong relationships with key internal and external partners to promote and enhance services provided with sensitivity to diversity and indigenous lens
- Practices the recognition, inclusion and support of all types and aspects of diversity at all stages of engagement, with an understanding of the issues faced by people from equity-seeking groups
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to relay technical information in a manner that can be understood by various audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to deal with staff and public effectively.
- Exhibits thoroughness and detail-orientation when maintaining, monitoring, calculating and summarizing data, records and other information.
- Strong decision-making, critical thinking, analytical, and problem solving. Applies excellent time management skills to prioritize and complete assignments and schedule activities in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness and maintains customer relations.
- Proficiency in the use of computers and relevant software applications including online recruitment/human resource systems, and current office software. Ability to type at 50 w.p.m.
- Ability to function independently and effectively in an atmosphere involving multiple, competing deadlines and frequent interruptions. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
- Ability to operate related equipment.
