JOB PURPOSE: Create and implement a flexible program and classroom environment favorable to student learning and personal growth. Develops lesson plans consistent with established guidelines. • Assists teachers in writing and facilitating Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans/Committee for Academic and Behavioral Supports.

• Maintains and analyzes accurate student behavioral data to assist committees in making informed decisions.
• Serves as consultant to school personnel regarding students or situations which are not referred for direct service.
• Meets regularly with building administrators to provide information regarding school wide behavioral trends and concerns.
• Participate as a Crisis Team member after being trained in the program for non-violent crisis intervention.
• Assists teachers and classroom assistants in self-contained classroom for students with Emotional Disabilities(ED) with classroom management, implementation of behavioral plans and community related activities.
• Provides support for ED students who move from self-contained to inclusionary settings.
• Develops and facilitates social skills groups for students.
• Serves as a resource for staff for social skills curriculum.
• Possesses a working knowledge about community agencies and resources.
• Facilitates staff development sessions and parent focus groups.
• Understands and models positive behavioral intervention supports.
• Possesses knowledge of procedures, policies and laws pertaining to special education.
