ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Continues to develop knowledge and understanding about the history, traditions, values, family systems, and artistic expression of groups served as well as uses appropriate methodological approaches, skills, and techniques that reflect an understanding of culture. Provides front line crisis support to individuals and/or families in the program by phone, in-home and/or in the community as needed based on initial assessment of the presenting concerns and program practice parameters. Problem solves by interpreting and adapting guidelines in the field and reviews situational details and assessment with supervisor for a second opinion and consultation.

Makes decisions based on interpretation of the data presented and/or refines the methods and techniques used. Uses judgment to interpret and adapt program guidelines/procedures based on specific concerns/needs/problems presented by client/family.

Determines the processes and methods to follow based on assessment of the client/family presentation and their strengths; takes a course of action from varying alternatives to provide client/family centered support and care.

Provides group, individual and/or family counseling to clients with appropriate supervision and coordinates treatment phases with both internal and/or external service providers and/or family supports as appropriate.

Demonstrates knowledge of basic psychopathology, crisis theory and other behavioral health concerns, and primary intervention modalities relevant to target population (e.g., skill building, safety planning, parenting skills, and high fidelity wraparound care).

Supports daily program specific operational functions as required. May transport clients to appointments or linkages as appropriate.

Provides service (evaluation, treatment, wraparound team facilitation, follow-up, case management) in the office and/or community settings outside of the office (e.g., homes, schools, hospitals, institutions, other community locations) and maintains a flexible schedule to ensure services are delivered based on client needs and as defined by the program.

Provides/supports safety planning and crisis intervention/clinical emergencies with appropriate supervision including rotating on-call coverage with other team members to ensure 24 hour availability to clients as required by program.

Participates in the development, implementation, and facilitation of initial treatment plan or plan of care, transition plan and timeline for strategies and next steps as defined by program.

Demonstrates knowledge of internal and external levels of care, referral processes, and resources. Makes clinically appropriate referrals for identified support and service needs in a timely manner.

Meets direct service productivity goals as defined by program, understands program/department/agency guidelines, goals and target outcomes, and adheres to practice standards and to data collection and reporting protocols.

Identifies potential risk factors and takes measures to reduce those risks in the home through appropriate supervision, reinforcement of positive and safe behaviors, trauma-informed and relationally-based therapeutic interventions as defined by program.

Attends and is prepared for scheduled supervision, team meetings, staff meetings or rounds to assist in coordinating case management/care coordination and review of treatment plans/plans of care. Seeks additional supervision or consultation as needed and follows through with supervisory directives.

Communicates in a positive, effective manner with client, family, and all internal and external providers.

The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (C.O.T.A.) is a skilled technical worker who performs direct resident care activities under the clinical supervision of the Occupational Therapist.

Responsibilities

1. Provide occupational therapy treatments to residents according to treatment plans developed by the Occupational Therapist.

2. Assist the Occupational Therapist when performing tests, evaluations, and complex treatment procedures.

3. Observe, record and report to the therapist the conditions, reactions and responses related to assigned duties.

Qualifications

1. Graduate of an approved Occupational Therapy Assistant program.

5. Ability to understand and follow the directions of the Occupational Therapist and the policies and procedures of the facility.

6. Ability to complete the following activities safely, and at times, for prolonged periods:

  • Pushing: Applying pressure and exerting force against an object for the purpose of moving it forward or away from the source of the force – push or pull force up to 35 lbs.
  • Lifting: Raising an object from a lower to a higher position, or moving an object laterally, from position to position-Required to lift up to 50 lbs of force independently. May be required to lift over 50 lbs with assistance of another person or a mechanical lift

  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary mental health care team to provide comprehensive mental health and psychosocial assessment and treatment services for families of individuals with mental illness and concurrent disorders (i.e. substance use).
  • Provide psychodynamic, cognitive and behavioural therapy, couples counselling, group counselling and psychoeducation according to a variety of theoretical models and best practices.

  • Participate in case conferences/meetings with clients, family, service providers and members of the multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master’s degree in a behavioral science from a recognized program.
  • Three (3) years’ experience working in an outpatient/community setting providing family therapy, individual and group therapy to clients and families with a variety of mental disorders (including eating disorders) or an equivalent combination of post-graduate education, training and experience.
  • Registration with Provincial Licensing/governing body of profession if applicable.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License. Local travel may require the use of a personal vehicle.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of psychotherapeutic and counseling skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental illness and treatment.

In collaboration with Sr. Leadership, develop strategy and operating plan that includes objectives and priorities, budget plan and management, and tactic management and measurement to meet strategic goals and objectives.

Responsible to develop and execute the Go To Market approach for assigned portfolio of products, solutions, services in alignment with the Markets’ Business and overall Marketing strategy and works with the Business to ensure perfect and flawless New Product Introductions and Launches.

S/he supports the Business Marketing & Sales Leader (BM&S) in the interactions with the Business, especially the BMC process. Responsible for the BMC planning and execution, monitors performance, develops and enables execution of corrective actions in the Markets to achieve BMC and AOP-commitments.

The BMM also supports and coaches the Modality Sales and Clinical teams in the Market as a one-point contact to the Business and ensures Marketing strategy and plans are aligned. This includes marketing performance optimization (KPIs) and drives continuous improvements applying LEAN.

Your role:

  • Sales Strategy Evolution: While not directly handling immediate sales, equip sales teams with forward-looking tools and knowledge. Serve as a bridge between the current state and the company’s envisioned future.
  • Direct Customer Engagement: Proactively engage with key customers to discuss and understand their long-term strategies, behaviors, and procurement practices. Lead conversations about future business models and practices, shaping the market’s direction for the upcoming years.
