Job description: Applications are invited for the post of Consultant Haematologist with Special Interest in Haemostasis and Thrombosis.

The inherited bleeding disorder service provides care for adults and children with bleeding disorders living in South, Mid and West Wales. The service looks after 90 people with severe haemophilia. The comprehensive care centre is based in Cardiff but patients can access services at haemophilia centres in Cardiff, Swansea and Abergavenny. The aim is to deliver a seamless service at all sites, with input from the most relevant staff member. There is regular outreach to each centre as well as MDT meetings. The service has an active trials programme, facilitated by 3 research nurses and a trials coordinator, who also deliver trials in thrombosis/anticoagulation and ITP.

Immune thrombocytopenia is a secondary care service for Cardiff and Vale and delivers inpatient, outpatient, perioperative and pregnancy management of patients with ITP. The Cardiff Haemophilia Centre nurses provide CNS support for patients, who are able to access the whole IBD MDT – psychology, social work and physiotherapy.

Consultative haematology – thrombosis, anticoagulation – Ward based consultations, e-advice and Outpatient clinics for thrombosis and haemostasis.

Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will participate in the on-call rota to cover University Hospital of Wales and University Hospital Llandough for Haemostasis and Thrombosis. The on-call commitment is currently 1 in 4 but is subject to change according to service need and current workforce provision.

Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.

You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £91,722 per annum to £119,079 per annum plus a further £26,672 per annum available in Commitment Awards. Consultants in Wales paid on one of the first three points of the substantive Consultant pay scale also receive a Wales recruitment incentive payment.

Applicants must ensure they provide names and contact details of referees covering at least the last 3 years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.

Academic interests will be encouraged research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be expected.

About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a regular full-time Manager, Special Authorization to join our dynamic Plasma Protein and Related Products Formulary Program (PPRP) team in our Medical Affairs and Innovation division.

The PPRP Formulary Program team is responsible for leading Canadian Blood Services’ formulary management processes on behalf of Provinces and Territories in order to meet patients’ needs.

In this role, you will provide input and make recommendations that inform decisions and practices for the PPRP formulary program. Fostering and maintaining strong professional relationships with key stakeholders and having the ability to communicate effectively and assertively in order to leverage opportunities to exchange information and coordinate activities with stakeholders at various levels are key components of this role. You will lead and oversee the special authorization adjudication process by developing land supporting optimal approaches for delivering services related to special authorization requests and formulary management. You will require expert knowledge on PPRP and the application of evidence-based medicine in order to effectively provide clinical expertise.

Formula for success

  • Leveraging your knowledge and experience as a first-line adjudicator, you will provide advice to the PPRP Therapeutics Committee on the creation of new criteria, on their usability and relevance.
  • Utilizing your proven customer relationship management skills, you will maintain constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Focusing on your continuous growth mindset and strong business acumen, you will provide recommendations for formulary enhancements, improved control, and cost management for existing programs, assist in the ongoing management of the formulary including providing updates in benefit status and associate criteria.
  • Drawing on your proven capabilities in leading initiatives, you will review clinicians’ requests and determine if they meet the criteria established by the PPRP Therapeutics Committee and when needed consult with scientific and medical community and other sources of product information to inform decisions on special requests.
  • Concentrating on your strong interpersonal and communication skills, you will support leads in the preparation of all required committee materials, e.g., briefing notes, presentation content, and follow-up on open action items.
  • Using your excellent planning and organizational skills, you will analyze issues and opportunities, prepare supporting documentation, such a white papers, environmental scans, proposals, and business cases to outline options and recommendations, ensure varying opinions are included in assessments.

Desired education and skills

  • Completion of a university degree in Pharmacy, Pharm.D will be strongly preferred.
  • Licensed as a registered Pharmacist will be considered a requirement.
  • Seven to ten years of progressive experience in a clinical position including the management of a formulary program; management, planning, strategy formulation and execution.
  • You will be required to have a minimum of 5 years of health system pharmacist experience.
  • Experience in a clinical area; drug information, hematology, others.
  • Specific experience in strategy and financial analysis will be considered an asset.

About the role:

Join the British Museum in this unique new role supporting a new programme of masterplan and critical projects while supporting the museum to around 6 million visitors annually. This is a crucial role, involving working closely with senior stakeholders, supply-chain partners, and the support teams across the museum.

To manage planned and reactive project work that supports technical services delivery and enhances the engineering excellence and resilience of the Museum estate. The projects will be varied and include asset refurbishment and renewal, packaged M&E and Life and Fire Safety maintenance and improvement works, step in/defect management of maintenance and technical services, client project management of major maintenance activities (e.g. electrical testing).

The types of project vary in scope and scale, and will range from a typical budget thresholds of £15K to £25k and over £25K.

You will be responsible for providing technical engineering advice as necessary to ensure that all work is carried out efficiently, to the required quality, time, and budget constraints and in accordance with legal and statutory requirements, to ensure compliance with the latest CDM regulations and Health and Safety standards.

Key areas of responsibility:

  • To manage and deliver FM engineering projects according to best practice project management standards, the RIBA Plan of Work, and using the Museum’s Project Management methodology, from inception to completion and final handover to the Client.
  • The post-holder will work on projects across the Museum’s property portfolio, including: the Bloomsbury estate, Orsman Road and BM_ARC.
  • To develop, manage and coordinate internal and external project stakeholder teams in support of projects. This includes coordinating the work of specialist project teams which will include personnel from external consultants, FM contractors, curatorial teams and other Museum staff to ensure that projects are completed in accordance with the original brief.
  • To establish procurement routes, and procure the services of, to liaise with and/or manage external consultants and suppliers, and ensure that proposed procurement strategies satisfy the Museum procurement rules.
  • To manage projects sensitively, taking account of the Bloomsbury estate listed building status (Grade I, Grade II and Grade II*) and ensuring that appropriate consents are obtained, appropriate methods of construction are used, and that the existing aesthetic of the building is not compromised. To ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including, listed building consents.
  • To manage the evaluation, selection and use of innovative technologies including energy saving and sustainable measures in support of nominated projects, ensuring a fit with overall building and estate strategies and due consideration of the trends within the industry.
  • To prepare and monitor programmes of works to ensure that works are completed in accordance with the programmes and within the agreed cost limits. Proactively manage and resolve any under-performance issues that may arise.
  • To oversee the application of VFM techniques (e.g. whole life-based design, value management, post occupancy evaluation) and to assist in their review and development. Ensure that issues are flagged up to the relevant stakeholders in a timely fashion so that all requirements are taken into account before decisions are made.

About you:

You will have excellent management skills, maintaining oversight of the properties, budgets, several professionals. Working on highly technical projects, you will have a keen knowledge of legislative requirements for buildings, Building Information Management, and ideally have an understanding of building conservation.

You will have strong experience of client-side Property Management of high profile, public facing Capital Projects in a leading public institution or similar large organisation. You will work well in an environment which is susceptible to changes. Working in a fast-paced environment, you will ensure that deadlines are met. As a managerial role, you will have had prior experience managing teams and projects.

Gestionnaire, Fiscalité canadienne

Vous ferez partie d’une équipe fiscale mondiale (composée de plus de 40 professionnels) d’une société multinationale basée à Montréal. Vous relèverez du gestionnaire principal de l’équipe, collaborerez avec 2 autres gestionnaires en fiscalité canadienne et bénéficierez du support de 2 ou 3 subordonnés directs.

Vous serez responsable de diverses tâches qui incluent notamment l’analyse/conseils dans le cadre de transactions, la conformité fiscale canadienne, la gestion des vérifications fiscales en cours et plusieurs autres projets intéressants!

Votre rôle au sein de l’équipe

Au sein de l’équipe de fiscalité canadienne, vous relèverez de la gestionnaire principale et vous aurez à :

  • Analyser les conséquences fiscales de différentes transactions/projets futurs (acquisitions, désinvestissements, liquidations-dissolutions et réorganisations internes) et formuler des recommandations;
  • Effectuer des recherches fiscales ponctuelles sur différents sujets d’impôts corporatifs;
  • Collaborer avec les membres des équipes de fiscalité spécialisées (fiscalité internationale, taxes indirectes, etc.) et les membres d’équipes projet d’unités d’affaires dans le cadre de projets;
  • Participer à l’élaboration et à l’implantation de planification fiscales;
  • Contribuer à l’identification et à la mitigation des risques fiscaux relatifs à la fiscalité Canadienne;
  • Réviser les provisions d’impôts de sociétés canadiennes membres du groupe corporatif;
  • Réviser certaines déclarations fiscales canadiennes et autres formulaires fiscaux de sociétés membres du groupe corporatif;
  • Réviser la documentation et les analyses requises pour les vérifications des autorités fiscales canadiennes et participer aux discussions avec ces derniers;
  • Effectuer des vérifications diligentes d’entreprises;
  • Superviser le travail des subordonnés et participer à leur développement professionnel;
  • Possibilité de participer à différents mandats de fiscalité internationale.

Le/la gestionnaire, fiscalité canadienne recherché.e

  • Titre professionnel comptable, diplôme de droit ou formation équivalente;
  • Au moins 5 ans d’expérience pertinente, dont au moins 2 ans d’expérience en fiscalité auprès de sociétés multinationales;
  • Avoir terminé ou être inscrit au programme de maîtrise en fiscalité et/ou aux cours approfondis de l’ICCA;
  • Maîtrise du français et de l’anglais (parlé et écrit);
  • Compétences en comptabilité fiscale sont un atout (normes comptables IFRS relatives à l’impôt sur le revenu);
  • Connaissances relatives aux enjeux transfrontaliers de fiscalité est un atout;
  • Esprit d’équipe, compétences organisationnelles et expérience en gestion de projets dans un environnement rapide et dynamique;
  • Capacité à mener à bien plusieurs projets simultanément dans un environnement effervescent, tout en restant axé sur les résultats et en établissant les priorités;

Manager, Canadian Tax

The Canadian Tax Manager will be part of a tax group (comprised of more than 40 professionals) of a multinational corporation headquartered in Montreal. You will report to the Senior Manager of the team, collaborate with 2 other Canadian tax managers and benefit from the support of 2 or 3 direct reports.

You will be responsible for various tasks which include analysis/advice of transactions, Canadian tax compliance, management of ongoing tax audits and several other interesting projects!

Your role within the Team

Aa a member of the Canadian Tax team, you will report to the Senior Manager, Canadian Tax and be responsible for:

  • Analyze the tax consequences of potential transactions/projects (acquisitions, divestments, liquidations-dissolutions and internal reorganizations) and formulate recommendations;
  • Carry out tax research on various corporate tax topics;
  • Collaborate with members of other tax teams (international tax, indirect tax, etc.) and members of business units on various projects;
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of tax planning strategies;
  • Contribute to the identification and mitigation of tax risks;
  • Review the tax provisions of Canadian entities of the corporate group;
  • Review Canadian tax returns and other tax forms of Canadian entities of the corporate group;
  • Review the documentation and the analysis that are required in the course of audits by the Canadian tax authorities and participate to the discussions;
  • Carry out due diligence on companies;
  • Supervise the work of subordinates and participate in their professional development;
  • Possibility of participating in different international tax mandates.

Qualifications for the Position

  • Professional accounting designation, law degree or equivalent training;
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of tax experience with multinational organizations;
  • Have completed or be registered in the master’s program in taxation and/or in-depth courses from CPA Canada;
  • Fluency in French and English (spoken and written);
  • Tax accounting skills are an asset (IFRS accounting standards relating to income tax);
  • Knowledge of cross-border tax issues is an asset;
  • Team spirit, organizational skills and experience in project management in a fast-paced and dynamic environment;
  • Ability to carry out several projects simultaneously and establishing priorities, while remaining focused on results;
