1.) Legal Manager (Regional Business Manager)

Job Locations: Lagos & Oyo

Job Description

• Legal Manager (Regional Business Manager) is responsible for the day to day running of the operational activities of the Branch under his jurisdiction and as the job description may require.
• S/he is charged with the responsibility of managing at his/her branch, formulating strategies and driving the Company’s vision, mission as well as other policies, strategies and goals the company may formulate from time to time.

Key Responsibilities

Legal:

• Drafting and Reviewing of Contract Documentation between the company and its client.
• Legal Compliance and regulatory.
• Promoting and ensuring risk management in line with accepted global practices.
• Implementing acceptable standard practice as they align or may align with the organisation’s goals and policies.
• Legal advisory to the organization on the sustainability, viability and feasibility of its policies and strategies.
• Creation and management of Client Filing system and effective document management scheme.
• Advising and providing informed guidance to clients/prospects as it relates to their relationship with the company.

HR Support:

• Talent sourcing, recruitment and retention of excellent marketing executives and top performers for the actualization of the company’s goals in terms of the sales of real estate globally.
• Staff Management and Training in collaboration with the Training team.
• Management and ensuring staff welfare.
• Ensuring adherence with the employment laws and all relevant laws as it relates to staff and their employment with the company.
• Advising the Deputy Director of Human Resources on staff appreciations/rewards, development, promotions etc

Admin:

• Managing the day to day activities of the branch.
• Fleet management.
• Facility management.
• Contract negotiations and decisions on tenders submitted by vendors.
• Client gift and promo management and disbursement.

Requirements

Educational Qualifications / Certifications:

• B.L (Qualifying Call to Bar Certificate).
• LL.B (Bachelor of Law) from a reputable and recognised Nigerian Academic Institution.
• NYSC, discharge or Exemption Certificate.
• LL.M is an added advantage.
• CIPM is an added advantage.

Experience:

• Three(3) to Five(5) years of post Call to Bar.

2.) Documentation Titling and Records Lawyer

Job Location: Lagos

Summary of Responsibilities

• The Directorate of Documentation, Titling and Records is saddled with the responsibility of documentation of all records of the company as it relates to Real Estate, being the business of the Company.
• The Directorate follows through the process of Acquisition of land and other forms of Real Estate properties, the preparation of Document and the perfection of Titles to the acquired land or other forms of Realties, ensures that the Real Estate business policies and activities are managed correctly and in compliance with current laws.
• The Directorate also Reviews changes to Laws and Regulations and advises management on the impact of such changes to the business of the company while also following through with Government policies and ensures compliance.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation, processing and perfection of Titles.
• Giving Legal advice on documentation and perfection of Titles.
• Provide information and Legal advice on properties and Real estate issues.
• Preparing Legal Documents.
• To liaise with other Legal Services on cases of strategic importance.
• To maintain strict confidentiality of company’s information.
• Resolve issues raise by the Government as it relates to perfection of Titles.
• Maintain an up to date and accurate record of work.
• Advocacy with Government agencies on behalf of the Company.
• Adhere strictly to company’s policies in all regards.
• To undertake additional task and responsibilities which may arise from time to time.
• Liaise and lead in negotiations involving Government or with third parties.
• Advise management on compliance issues as they relate to Documentation, Titling and Records.
• To work to an annual work plan.
• Identify and analyse risks in acquisition of properties where applicable.
• Liaise with external Solicitors at every perfection stage.
• Prepare and render periodic report of Documentation and Titling jobs.
