VA Careers – Social Work:

The incumbent assists Veterans and family members with applications for long term care insurance coverage and serves as the point of contact that facilitates complex discharge plan coordination. The DPC social worker coordinator also collaborates with acute care and outpatient care DPC social workers on specific cases to offer guidance surrounding long term care standards of care specific to dementia care, behavioral disturbances, use of restraints, and conservatorship or legal matters. The incumbent serves as a consultant for un-insured and under-insured Veterans throughout the health care system. Services are at the advanced practice level and include high quality case management, coordination, and linking VA and community providers to achieve successful placement outcomes.

Major duties include but are not limited to the following:

(a)Knowledge of program coordination and administration which includes consultation, negotiation, and monitoring.
(b) Knowledge and ability to write policies, procedures, and/or practice guidelines for the program.
(c) Ability to supervise multidisciplinary staff assigned to the program.
(d) Skill in organizing work, setting priorities, meeting multiple deadlines, and evaluating assigned program area(s).
(e) Ability to provide training, orientation, and guidance within clinical practice.

Program coordinators at the GS-12 grade level are administratively responsible for a clinical program providing treatment to Veterans in a major specialty area. The program coordinator may be the sole practitioner in this specialty at the facility and typically provide direct patient care services in the program area. The program coordinator oversees the daily operation of the program, develop policies and procedures for program operation, and prepare reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They may be responsible for the program’s budget, developing and monitoring staff compliance with practice, standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery. The program coordinator provides analysis and evaluation of clinical program data and computerized programs to identify system-wide trends and needs to enhance the quality of service. They may be responsible for, or contribute to, the program’s resource and fiscal management, monitoring control points developing the annual budget, operating within that budget, and accounting for appropriated funds. The program coordinator is administratively responsible for the clinical programming and prepares reports and statistics for facility, VISN, and national use. They provide leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for assigned staff. They initiate and conduct a variety of program or service audits and complete designated clinical practice audits and reports, including productivity assessments. They oversee program operations and evaluations, identifying areas for improvement, gathering relevant data, assessing the data, developing and implementing ideas for improvement and evaluating efficacy of improvement efforts.
The incumbent provides leadership, direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs for assigned staff. developing and monitoring staff compliance with practice, standards and guidelines on documentation, workload, data entry, ethical practice and service delivery.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

1. United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.

3. Education: Candidates must have a master’s degree in social work from a school of social work fully accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).Graduates of schools of social work that are in candidacy status do not meet this requirement until the School of Social Work is fully accredited. A doctoral degree in social work may not be substituted for the master’s degree in social work. Grade Determinations:

Individual Placement (IP) Overview:

The US Fish and Wildlife Service’s is seeking a 6-month Individual Placement (IP) to work out of the Wichita Mountains NWR office located in Indiahoma,OK in support of the Headquarters Native American Program (HQ NAP). Work with focus on enhancing internal and external communications and storytelling related to the Service’s co-stewardship work across the nation.

The primary role of the HQ NAP IP is to assist the national program with enhancing internal and external communications regarding co-stewardship work. Secondary duties will include coordinating communications with the Co-Stewardship Coordination Team, associated Implementation Work Plan, and other Service programs. This position will require strong writer/editor skills, the ability to coordinate among many separate but related efforts, and willingness to be creative and help the Service define how we weave this type of communication into the fabric of our everyday work. There will be opportunities to interact with refuge staff locally, and with Headquarters and Director’s Office staff on a wide variety of projects.

Essential functions and responsibilities:

The Native American Program Assistant Individual Placement- will work to complete tasks and projects outlined below. * Create a comprehensive education and outreach plan.

  • Help to define communications needs of the NAP and the Service’s co-stewardship effort.
  • Help to identify communications processes needed to support the NAP and the Service’s co-stewardship effort.
  • Conduct outreach with tribal partners.

As the EMEA Opening & Transitions intern, you will support with a range of administrative and operational activities. From day one, our placement students are fully integrated into Team Hilton and are involved in different aspects of the business. Our placements offer vast exposure and opportunities, such as networking with senior executives, involvement in regional conferences and for some, international travel.

Based in our EMEA headquarters, Watford, you will also benefit from a subsidised restaurant, a games area and a free in-house gym, featuring state-of-the-art equipment, including Peloton. Within the EMEA Corporate offices, you will be part of a cohort of 40+ Interns, working across various corporate teams and involved in our leading intern programme. This includes regular connect meetings, short assignments and feedback sessions designed to support your development.

The Opportunity

As EMEA Hotel Openings & Transitions intern you will support the team with a range of administrative and operational activities. This position will centrally support the openings & transitions processes, agnostically for all hotels, with key responsibilities being:

  • Day-to-day execution of prioritized initiatives to support onboarding of new hotels.
  • Complete regular pre openings tasks, support the new hotel onboarding process, reducing the timeline of the opening process, ensuring hotel teams are focusing on property specific onboarding milestones.
  • Support the hotel’s commercial and operational readiness.
  • Regularly update and refresh support materials, hotel facing documents and tutorials, knowledge articles and processes to ensure these always reflect the latest brand voice and positioning, cross functional opening tasks.
  • Support Senior Manager and Director Openings & Transitions Central Services with the hotel transition process.
  • Support the Senior Manager Openings & Transitions Central Services with administrative tasks.
  • Own and deliver a number of projects, monitoring and presenting findings back to the team.
  • This placement will work with the wider Brands & Central Operations team and in particular with the Brand Performance Support EMEA team.

As the EMEA Hotel Openings & Transitions intern you will predominantly provide support activities including:

  • Daily support of hotels in pre-opening/transitions.
  • Complete pre-opening/transition tasks & milestones on behalf of hotels.
  • Ensure process timelines are met and all objectives are delivered on time for a successful opening/transition.

You will also be involved in content activities, including supporting the team with video tutorials, fact sheets and similar product solutions made available to our hotels. As well as planning & organising activities, including, planning daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly openings & transition support schedules and engagements. Travel may be required for internal meetings and some hotel openings.

What are we looking for?

As with any job, we do have certain criteria that you will need to meet in order to be considered for this amazing opportunity. These are detailed as follows;

  • First and foremost, Hilton is a hospitality company and we are looking for individuals with a strong sense of alignment to our culture and values.
  • Must be in your second year of undergraduate study at the point of application studying a degree with a year in industry.
  • Studying for a Hospitality or Business Management related degree is preferred; however, we will consider applicants from other disciplines providing you are able to demonstrate a strong desire to progress in a career in this area.
  • Must be available to start in July 2024, for the full 12-month duration
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK. If you are a non-UK national, without EU Settled or Pre-Settled Status then you will need to be studying at a UK university in order to be eligible to undertake a placement here.
  • Must be fluent in English (speaking, reading and writing).
  • The ideal candidate will have at least an interest in the hotel/hospitality industry.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Exceptionally organized and comfortable prioritizing tasks and working to deadlines.
  • Additional EMEA language skills would be advantageous, although not essential.

The role will involve working with Placements Officers and Social Workers to identify and match care experienced children to the placement that best support their needs. This will include providing dedicated support to the fostering duty service and collating data to assist the team to develop our foster carer recruitment. The role will include supporting social workers to ensure referrals for placements searches are of the highest quality and approaching carers and providers for placements for children.

We are a well established, friendly, knowledgeable and experienced team located in the centre of Bridgend. We are co-located with the Care Experienced and 16+ Social Work teams which enables collaborative working. The role will involve hybrid working arrangements but will require being office based on a regular basis.

We are looking for someone who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for care experienced children, has knowledge and experience of working within childrens services and has excellent IT skills. We need a person in this role who understands the needs of children who have experienced trauma and loss and has first rate communication skills. If you have previous experience working with a placements and or fostering service this is desirable but not essential.

We provide a high standard of support to our staff team including regular supervision and access to quality training. We will provide you with a robust induction and the opportunity to contribute to developing the service to achieve excellence. This post offers the opportunity of working across all of childrens services and therefore a wide range of experience.
