Job description: Benfleet PCN has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced physician associate (PA) to join our team on a full or part time basis.

Main duties of the job

The post-holder will independently assess, diagnose and manage patients with acute and chronic medical conditions, coordinating with other primary and secondary healthcare services as appropriate. There is an expectation that the physician associate will attend to patients within the practices and will coordinate care with other members of the practice or PCN team and external providers. Whilst a physician associate is not able to prescribe independently, at present, the expectation is that they will make recommendations regarding drug treatment and medication reviews.

The post-holder will have aligned GP supervisors, to enable them to work under appropriate clinical supervision. Appropriate training and mentoring will be provided as necessary.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and work closely with Epic Training Expert(s) at Epic headquarters to ensure end user training is developed in accordance to Epic’s timeline for the Network.
• Develop and implement end users testing scripts loaded into Epic’s Testing System and continue to update them during testing and training which occur pre go-live and post go live for the Network.
• Performs needs assessments, analyzes results, and identifies training opportunities based on those results for the Network.
• Develops and designs educational offerings based on needs assessments and/or organizational/departmental requirements for the Network.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of educational offerings to ensure that knowledge and/or skills learned are being applied on the job and have an impact on staff performance in meeting departmental/organizational goals for the Network.
• Serves as the Department and IT liaison for the HMH Physician Practices throughout theNetwork.
• Troubleshoots problems and address questions from end users and providing off-hour support on an as needed basis. Provides off hours go live/upgrade support as requested for the HMH Physician Practices throughout the Network.
• Reviewing and testing each new release and enhancement; analyzing impact on PB EPIC Ambulatory/Revenue Operations/HIM modules for the Network.

Qualifications

OPENINGS: Our client is looking for several full-time family physicians/GPs to join their multidisciplinary clinics offering flexible work hours and that elusive work-life balance. Our client has two clinics-one in Toronto’s “West Queen West” neighbourhood, and one in Mississauga, in a pleasant neighbourhood fifteen minutes from Toronto. The clinics offer billing support and full software orientation to their new GPs. The payment structure is fee-for-service (work more-earn more), and the range of potential annual earnings is $400,000-$500,000 (£240,000-£290,000). Further details available on application.

• The Toronto clinic is located in the dynamic Toronto “West Queen West” neighbourhood, close to downtown while also being close to excellent art galleries, cafes, and shops. This is a great opportunity for a GP who desires a cosmopolitan lifestyle. You will be part of a team of family physicians and specialists, including Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, and Allied Health (Physiotherapy, Chiropractor, Massage Therapy).
• The Mississauga clinic is located in a neighbourhood of 10,000 residents, fifteen minutes from downtown Toronto. You will be part of a team of Family Physicians and Specialists including Internal Medicine, Urology, Orthopedic Surgery, and Allied Health (Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Chiropractor, Massage Therapy). This clinic also has a pharmacy on site.
