Human Geography: Fully Funded ESRC Wales Graduate School for the Social Sciences (WGSSS) Studentship in the Human Geography Pathway

The Geography Department at Swansea is a vibrant and dynamic place for doctoral studies, and we host a large contingent of both domestic and international PhD students. The Human Geography staff at Swansea have a long history of successfully training PhD students for careers in the academy, as well as the public, private and third sectors. Our staff have a wide range of expertise, including in social theory, and cultural, urban, political, environmental, rural, and economic geography. We emphasise research that is both theoretically sophisticated and empirically situated. Many of us are actively recruiting PhD students and .

As part of the ESRC supported Welsh Graduate School in the Social Sciences, the Human Geography pathway is founded on longstanding institutional links between Swansea’s Department of Geography, Aberystwyth’s Department of Geography and Earth Sciences, and Cardiff’s School of Geography and Planning. All three departments collaborate extensively in funded research ventures, PhD supervision, and broader postgraduate training in cutting edge theories and methods of human geography.

PhD training is provided through a coordinated programme of standalone and residential workshops dedicated to advances in Human Geography Theory, and an annual cohort-building postgraduate conference with participation from across the pathway. The pathway also sponsors a peer-reviewed journal, Agoriad, with PhD students serving as editors. Should PhD students wish, they will have a chance to gain paid teaching experience, including as demonstrators or assisting with fieldtrips and seminars.

Positions Available

Atrium/Stadium Housekeeper: This position is responsible for daily cleaning of the stadium concourses, Atrium, restrooms, and various other areas within Lambeau Field. The position will also assist with post-event cleanup. Various schedules available; includes working all home games and other large stadium events.

Atrium Operations Atrium Housekeeping: This position performs janitorial and cleaning tasks related to the Lambeau Field Atrium. The work involves performing the day-to-day operations of Atrium housekeeping to the highest level of customer service.

Atrium Operations Atrium Set Up: This position provides atrium operation support in meeting rooms, audio-visual and special set-up, and cleaning of atrium areas. Responsibilities include set-up and removal of tables, chairs, staging, etc., as needed for special events/meetings; stocking meeting rooms with proper supplies; providing general cleaning of meeting rooms and all operation space before and after events, etc.

Specific work schedules, salary, job qualifications, and physical requirements vary by position. All positions are located at Lambeau Field (1265 Lombardi Ave, Green Bay, WI 54304)

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Set-up and remove tables, chairs, staging, etc. as needed for special events/meetings.
• Stock meeting rooms with proper supplies (pads/pens/water pitchers/glasses/etc.).
• Provide general cleaning meeting rooms and all operation space prior to and at conclusion of events.
• Maintain clean and orderly storage rooms (banquet storage/A/V closets/housekeeping closet).
• Interact with clients to provide world-class service levels.
• Cloth and skirt tables as needed.
• Set-up remove and store audio-visual equipment.
• Respond to additions and/or changes to set-ups in a timely and efficient manner.
• Responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the atrium operations equipment.
• Complete cleaning of all public area restrooms. These include: Hall of Fame; Atrium-to-Concourse; Oneida Entrance; 1919 Kitchen and Tap; Associated Bank Club Level; North & South end-zone areas after events; and American Family gate.
• Replenish paper toweling, soap, and toilet paper in above mentioned restrooms.
• Clearing and cleaning tables on Atrium floor.
• Remove trash from public areas.
• Clean light fixtures in Atrium and Club levels.
• Wash glass doors in areas listed above.
• Properly handle and use cleaning products and chemicals.
• Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be at least 16 years of age
• Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays.

Role Summary:

Programme Leadership

Provide operational leadership to align GBCTs World Class performance pathway to the Olympic medal aspirations

Lead and empower the coaching team to develop, implement and evolve activity to ensure continually improving programmes at every stage of the pathway.

Work with relevant Heads of Department in GBCT to align and integrate appropriate coaching, science, medicine and technical resources through the pathway.
