OVERVIEW

To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care for patients as well as providing nursing assistance to the doctors and other members of the primary healthcare team. The duties will include all tasks normally undertaken by an experienced RGN and in addition any roles agreed between the nurse and the doctors as appropriate, having regard to current training. The focus of the role is both the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long term conditions and the provision of preventative health care to the practice population. As an autonomous practitioner the nurse is responsible for the care delivered, demonstrating critical thinking and skills in clinical decision-making in the management of patients.   • At Least 1 to 8 years Year’s Nursing Experience on Band 6
  • Current registration with NMC

  • Qualified practitioner / completed a minimum of one recognised level 6 Autonomous Practice Module relating to the diagnosis and management of either injuries or illness
  • Post Registration experience Good IT skills – ability to utilise appropriate electronic systems to accurately record data.
  • Ability to work autonomously without supervision. Ability to meet deadlines and to work under pressure.

  • Aware of accountability of own role and other roles in a nurse led service.

PERSONAL & PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

The post-holder will be required to keep himself / herself up-to-date with their relevant area of practise and be able to demonstrate this to the satisfaction of the hospital / trust / GMC.

The trust supports the requirements for continuing professional development as set down by the Royal College’s and is committed to providing time and financial support for these activities, this is also the same for GMC Revalidation.

STUDY LEAVE
