What will your typical day look like?

The Event Specialist is responsible for the end-to-end process of planning and execution of in-person, virtual, and hybrid conferences, meetings, and special events. Main responsibilities include:

  • Plan, manage and execute high-impact events in various formats (in-person, virtual or hybrid), for both our clients, partners, and our people.
  • Advise our internal leaders on event strategy in order to meet key business objectives, making suitable recommendations on industry best practices and trends.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Marketing, Communications, Agency, People & Culture, and others, on the design and conception of events, alongside our external network of preferred suppliers.
  • Manage all logistical aspects related to event planning, such as venue sourcing and selection; vendor contracting and management; online registration and reporting, F&B experience, audio visual, space set-ups, etc.
  • Manage virtual event production elements including event platform set-up; broadcasting; speakers sourcing and contracting; rehearsals and dry-runs support; creation of run of show; day of show calling.
  • Oversee conference and complex events’ needs such as hotel blocks, rooming lists, air and ground transportation plan, arrival/departure experience.
  • Manage all aspects of event budgets to include cost projection and avoidance, payments, and reconciliation, working alongside teams such as Finance, Procurement, Independence and Risk Management.

The National Events Team is responsible for the planning and execution of virtual, hybrid and in-person events across Canada, and we strive to always inspire, excite, and engage our audience.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in an event planning position
  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or another related program
  • Advanced MS Office skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Prior experience with event platforms and applications; Cvent knowledge is an asset
  • Ability to multi-task, managing priorities and concurrent events, meeting strict deadlines in a busy and ever-changing environment.
  • Excellent people and communication (verbal/written) skills, with a proactive attitude and committed to long-term growth
  • Flexibility to work overtime, be on-site for event set-up and execution, and travel as needed.
  • Bilingualism (French/English) is an asset but not required.

The salary range for this position is $58,000 – $96,000, and individuals may be eligible to participate in our bonus program. The Director, National Electronic Sales role is responsible for driving profitable revenue growth in the electronics access control market across Canada in all channels (Wholesale, Integrator, PAC) through program and sales execution. Specific duties include developing and leading relationships and key initiatives support/execution with all direct channels and indirect influencing channels (IT Professionals, Division 28 Security Consultants). Develop sales and communication strategies to address market needs and create new opportunities while increasing customer loyalty and brand awareness. Ensure focus, national execution, and serve as a catalyst to the regional sales teams. The position will report directly to the Regional Vice President of Sales, Commercial and will develop and support the overall electronics strategy to channel; focused on the combined activities/program execution driven by the regional sales leadership.

What You Will Do:

Lead and execute revenue and pricing goals for electronics products growth. Manage profitability of brands while maximizing sales through controlled pricing.

Utilize sales and management experience to mentor, coach and develop a geographically dispersed sales team with a focus on developing a pipeline of talent as successors for key positions.

Develop and manage sales strategies with the sales leadership team to align with the Long Range Plan (LRP). Drive the sales revenue plan, managing costs and overall sales budget to meet financial goals. Provides comprehensive reports to Senior Leadership as required.

In collaboration with regional sales teams and leadership, ensure sales team support for process and tools as they build a robust opportunity pipeline to generate, pursue and track sales opportunities.

Identify in country PACS partners for future integration opportunities for total electro-mechanical portfolio

Develop business plans at targeted accounts

What You Need to Succeed:

Minimum 8-10 Years Sales Leadership Experience, Security Access Control Electronics Experience a plus

This role will need someone to be confident in delivering new business development across the DIY and Trade sectors on a National basis.

Reporting into the business Account Director you will be responsible for the management and development of Independent and Key Sales Accounts throughout the UK with primary focus across Trade Merchants, Decorating Merchants and Builders Merchants

Key accountability of the role is as follows:

  • Responsible for sales to agreed yearly budgets with targets to include revenue, margin, and volume
  • New business development with set yearly targets
  • Negotiate customer prices, offers, rebates, and trading conditions
  • Maintain, nurture, and grow exisiting inherritted accounts
  • Effective liaison with mutiple areas of the business, to include manufacturing, planning, accounts, marketing, sales office etc
  • Professionally promote the features and benefits of products and services that the company offers
  • Produce reports and complete other administrative tasks to agreed procedures and timescales
  • Provide the Company after-sales service
  • Provide technical support where required
  • Contact customers as necessary for credit control/late payment purposes
  • Represent the company at Trade Fairs where nessecary
  • Be a brand ambassador and promote the company and its activities within your area
  • Bespoke special project sales activities

To be considered for this role you must be able to display the following:

  • Proven track record of growth delivery in revenue AND margin.
  • Gravitas to be respected within key customers and internally
  • Understanding value propositions with an ability to be able to translate to a customer benefit.
  • Significant experience gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with DIY, Discount Retailers, Independent retail, especially within building products segments

Key accountability of the role is as follows:

  • Responsible for sales to agreed yearly budgets with targets to include revenue, margin, and volume

  • Produce reports and complete other administrative tasks to agreed procedures and timescales
  • Provide the Company after-sales service
  • Provide technical support where required
  • Contact customers as necessary for credit control/late payment purposes
  • Represent the company at Trade Fairs where nessecary
  • Be a brand ambassador and promote the company and its activities within your area
  • Bespoke special project sales activities

To be considered for this role you must be able to display the following:

  • Proven track record of growth delivery in revenue AND margin.
  • Gravitas to be respected within key customers and internally
  • Understanding value propositions with an ability to be able to translate to a customer benefit.
  • Significant experience gained within a manufacturing environment
  • Familiar with DIY, Discount Retailers, Independent retail, especially within building products segments
  • Knowledge of paint, coatings, fillers & adhesives are ideal but not essential

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Programme Officer to join our highly talented and growing team to help address some of the challenges within remote & rural communities.

The National Centre (The Centre) for Remote and Rural Health and Care was established by NES on behalf of the Scottish Government in 2023. As a valued member of our team, you will support the delivery of improved care for remote, rural and island communities across Scotland and reduce remote, rural and island health and wellbeing inequalities through focused work to improve the sustainability, capacity, and capability of remote, rural and island primary care and community-based workforce and service delivery.

As a Programme Officer you will:

Provide project support for the design, delivery and evaluation of remote and rural primary health and care research, training, education, recruitment, leadership and good practice

Provide programme support to leads who are consulting and collaborating with a wide range stakeholders, both nationally and internationally

Provide administrative support to relevant project/programmes/events, conferences, seminars, and steering group/stakeholder meetings

Utilise the latest digital technologies and innovation in ways which will support the wellbeing and sustainability of remote and rural communities

Support with gathering research information from a wide range of sources

Contribute to operational plans in line with NES Strategy, utilising National Policy documents, formulating and adjusting plans and liaising with key stakeholders throughout Scotland, as necessary
