Both hospital sites are accessible by road or train within easy commute distance from London, Cambridge, Leicester or Birmingham.

Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke Maternity Departments have been rated as ‘Good’ by CQC in June 2023. They have fully equipped obstetric, and midwifery led birthing units, fetal medicine scanning and high-risk obstetric services in addition to high quality modern inpatient and outpatient Gynaecology services. The sessional commitments consist of 10 programmed activities (PAs) for each post. This includes participation in a 1 in 9 on call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and 1 in 13 on call rota for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Peterborough City Hospital.

You will pursue an interest in line with service needs and an opportunity to provide leadership in General Obstetrics and Gynaecology while maintaining the highest clinical standards in the management of Obstetric patients.

In collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, you will facilitate the delivery of high standard care for patients in Acute Obstetrics and Maternal medicine.

You will liaise with the management team to develop the infrastructure for the provision of the service and accept personal responsibility for the clinical care of patients.

You will attend regular departmental meetings and participate in department management and development of the service.
