About the role
Canadian Blood Services is looking for a temporary full-time SAP Technical Systems Analyst III – ABAP Developer join our dynamic IT Internal Customer Experience team.

The IT Internal Customer Experience team is responsible for ensuring a positive and seamless experience for internal users within Canadian Blood Services who interact with IT services and systems.

In this role, you will be responsible to work within multiple SAP functional areas including HR, Finance, Materials Management, Plant Maintenance, Asset Management, SAP procurement and Ariba processes, ensuring appropriate levels of integration and information sharing between the team members in IT. You will also be responsible for supporting the use of SAP and its various platforms at Canadian Blood Services. This includes supporting SAP analysts and end users, using SAP information to conduct analysis, resolving end user issues, modifying existing SAP functionality and interfaces, and adding new capabilities.

Desired education and skills

  • Successful completion of post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution, preferably a University Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent e.g., technology diploma and/or training in software development.
  • Five or more years of SAP experience, including 3 years of ABAP development experience.
  • Experience working with the following SAP modules and products: HR Pay, FICO, SD, MM, PM, QM, CRM and Ariba.
  • Experience with IMG, Web Dynpro, Smart Forms, Adobe Forms, SAPscript, Secure File Transfer Protocol, Idocs and Workflow is preferred.
  • Experience collaborating with subject matter experts and business partners to build requirements and develop robust technical solutions that drive business outcomes and deliver exemplary user experiences.

  • Proficient at reading work orders, blueprints, GAC specifications, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations.
  • Must be skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6″ scale, 1″ micrometer, 6″ dial caliper.
  • Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection.
  • Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc.
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations.
  • Support Lean activities.

Employment Standards

Possession of a Master’s degree in Social Work preferred or possession of a Master’s Degree in Behavioral Science, Counseling, Education Counseling, Gerontology, Marriage and Family Therapy, Nursing, Psychology, Social Psychology, Vocational Rehabilitation or equivalent titles to the above degree from an accredited college.

Main Function

  • The Cost / Schedule / Controls Engineer will perform or coordinate efforts for cost estimate preparation, estimating oversight, and quality assurance reviews for Company operated and Other Builder Operator estimates for all Gate and Funding milestones.
  • The Cost/Schedule/Controls Engineer will also prepare Check Estimates and Schedules to compare with Operated by Others (OBO) Operator-prepared submittals.

Tasks and Responsibilities

About the role

The IT Strategy and Governance team designs the direction of technology use within Canadian Blood Services, ensuring it aligns with business objectives. They also establish and enforce policies and frameworks to manage risks, compliance, and resource allocation effectively.

In this role you will be primarily responsible for driving technology change, planning and delivery of Canadian Blood Services core network services as well as fulfill delivery duties to internal and external Canadian Blood Services stakeholders to meet business goals.

The key responsibilities include the planning, design, configuration and integration of core IT network services and enterprise networking infrastructure including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and network monitoring for on-premises and Azure services.
